If I were to take a poll among the Christian population of born again believers. I know I would get many variations as to how to become born again. Now I believe there has to be only one way to become born again. I would like to read as to what the experts of the word of God have to say pertaining to this subject.

I am by no means an expert in anything. I humbly direct you to John 3:16. I hope this helps you in your poll.

I am no expert either!! But take a look at these scriptures next to each other, and judge for yourself, how they pertain to you. As you know each of us has our own different obstacles in our race.We all run the same race, but we have different things in the race to overcome. 1. John 3:5-6) 2.John 4:13-14) and 3. John 4:32-34 one more just for good measure. John 7:38-39 Now you judge. Blessing bro.

I never read the Bible until I was born again/saved. I got on my knee and asked Jesus to save me and he did. Now I read the Bible.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.

1 Peter 1:8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.

Romans 8:23 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.

Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.

i always wonder what this verse means. does it mean having God's spirit? or being filled with spirit more over again?

Hello LionOfG-D.

Every person is a unique individual.

Every person has a different testimony.

Every person is created in a unique way.

Jesus meets us all at the appropriate time
and place most suitable for us.

Hence, a multitude of variations in conversions.

Jesus has reconciled us all to His Father.

Your question LOG is also unique, it is the very
question that you would ask of course. Not
among the questions that I would ask.

Your response to the answers will be unique.

Jesus knows you through and through.

Refreshing variations never a dull moment
in His kingdom.

Just a few thoughts:
Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Man's efforts will never please God for what is born of the flesh is flesh.
Born of water (natural childbirth) and the Spirit (born again) -The Spirit of God imparts a new heart (inner being) and restores that which was lost by Adam:

Eze_11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Eze 36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

Your testamony is so rich and wonderful! How simple to read the WORD of the LORD and surrender toJesus and to become born again. WOW thanks so much for sharing this.

1John 5:1. "Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him."

Rom 6:6 "our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin."

Gal 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. "

2Cor 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

Christianity isn't really a method or formula, in a way, it's not really even a 'religion'.
I think the common thing most will agree on, is...
Believe you are a sinner who needs a savior.
Believe that Jesus was sinless and paid the price for your sins.
Believe that he died on the cross for your sins and rose came back to life.
(signifying we also have eternal life)
Believe that he forgives your sin.

Others may add, you have to be baptized, or filled with the Holy Spirit, or take Communion, or take part in Confirmation, etc....
While these differences may seem like Christians can't agree on what constitute salvation. I think what it really does is say "hey, it's not about the rituals and formulas, it's about a personal relationship with him".
If you listened to everyone's testimony on here of how they got saved, you would hear hundreds of different stories, some got saved in church, some in a bar, some by praying in their bedroom, some by reading the Bible, some by have a friend witnessing to them and/or praying with them. Some with stories on victory and triumph over sin and tragedies in their lives, some from dysfunctional families, broken homes and broken hearts. Some because of God's love, some because of guilt and frustration. Some because of security of wanting to know where they will spend eternity. More often than not, it's at a low point in our lives where we realize something within us needs to change and even though we tried over and over again to do it ourselves, we didn't have the strength on our own.
Jesus meets us where we are. Most of us are at different places in our lives.

i dont think many people believe there's such thing as born again.
its often explained to refer to some kind of spiritual uplift.
but not to the state when you receive the Holy spirit.
born again i think is very irrevisable event

the way i know that i am born again is i am a new creature. i dont steal anymore. i dont do drugs anymore. i dont smoke ciggerettes (addiction is bondage). i dont want to fight people anymore. i am not always angry and i have peace. i could keep on going until this keyboard breaks, but i think my point is made.

i can relate to that. but sometimes its more of faith thing and lack of faith has opposite effect
what then truly defines new creature?

that was the purpose of my post. i didnt want to dip into scriptures here. i know because i am different than i used to be. so even in a time when i am of little faith, i can say, shut up you devil. i know I am His. because that liar is in my ear with nonsense. sometimes we have to go only on what we know. When this is the case for us, We can count our blessings one by one and thank Him.

1Jn_4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

God is Love. I know that I am born again (have received a new heart and a new spirit) because His Love lives in me and much like my Father I can love even the unlovely. Jesus once said :

Mat_12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
and:
Luk_6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
and finally this:
Joh_13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
By the Holy Spirit God's Word give us this:

1Jn_3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

1Jn_4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

1Jn_4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Now I believe there has to be only one way to become born again. I would like to read as to what the experts of the word of God have to say pertaining to this subject.

Here is GODs testimony on the subject.

1 John 5:11-13 (King James Version)

11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

If you have asked the SON into your life you have the SON

how a man, woman and child is saved from there sins.
what does it mean to believe in the gospel.? to believe means to trust, put faith in adhere to, receive. personal trust in the lord Jesus Christ in what he has done saves the soul. [this belief is not just head knowledge in ones head,] but faith in ones heart. for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;( Jesus) and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ( Romans 10:10).
the gospel of Jesus Christ, Christ died, was buried, and rose again the third day.

moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. for I delivered unto you first of all which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried , and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures"( 1st Corinthians 15:1-4).IN WHOM YOU ALSO TRUSTED , AFTER THAT YOU HEARD THE WORD OF TRUTH, THE GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION: IN WHOM ALSO AFTER THAT YOU BELIEVED, YOU WERE SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE. Ephesians 1:12-13). THAT THE GOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE FATHER OF GLORY, MAY GIVE UNTO YOU THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM. Ephesians 1:17).

but I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. for I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ." Galatians 1:11-12).

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of god to salvation to everyone that believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

for the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of god.

But as many as received him, JESUS) to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: john 1:-12}.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. john 1:13}.

JESUS said this in the book of Luke (24:44-47). Then he said to them, these are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of MOSES and the PROPHETS and the PSALMS must be FULFILLED." then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and said to them, THUS IT IS WRITTEN, that the CHRIST should SUFFER and on the THIRD DAY RISE FROM THE DEAD, and that REPENTANCE and FORGIVENESS of SINS should be PROCLAIMED IN HIS NAME TO ALL NATIONS, BEGINNING FROM JERUSALEM.

REPENTANCE IS A CHANGE OF HEART/mind WHICH CAUSES YOU TO TURN TOWARD GOD AND AWAY FROM YOUR PRESENT SINFUL WAY OF LIFE, AND TURNING TO CHRIST FOR FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS.
TESTIFYING BOTH TO THE JEWS, AND ALSO TO THE GREEKS, REPENTANCE TOWARD GOD, AND FAITH TOWARD OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. acts 20:21). BUT SHOWED first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the gentiles, that they should REPENT AND TURN TO GOD, AND DO WORKS MEET SUITABLE) FOR REPENTANCE. ACTS 26:20).

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted, but the sorrow of the WORLD PRODUCES DEATH. 2 Corinthians 7:9-10. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO BE FORGIVEN OF YOUR SINS AND HAVE ETERNAL LIFE AND THAT IS THROUGH THE GOSPEL WHICH HAS POWER TO SAVE YOUR SOUL TO THE ONE WHO BELIEVES IT IN THERE HEART.
