Hi Brothers and Sisters,I put this in the praise area,because when I explain to you how you can truly KNOW!! God does love you,I hope this will give you cause to have great praise and thanksgiving to him!
Last night in prayer,and in study,I kept getting this need in me,to tell the Lord that I love him,as many of you as well do from time to time! But like many of you,I had a problem with this.How do I know God knows I really do love him?
Then a brother in the Lord this morning reminded me as well, he said in part, thanks for 1 John 4:18 (There is not fear in love, but perfect love casts out all fear,)I have yet had to have this in my own life. .
Very honest and true for many of us! Fear as you know involves judgment,and many of us judge ourselves very harshly! I know I tend to do this myself! So I wanted to find out,what is a sure way, that we ourselves can KNOW!! God truly does love us!
And then Holy Spirit reminded me of this!! John 21:15-17 Here in such a short period of time, our good friend Simon son of John Do you love me? Tend MY lambs! Tend?? to watch over,to always look to take care of, yes my brothers and sisters in Christ to not only say you love them,but show you love them!
Verse 16 He said to him a second time,Simon, son of John do you love me? Jesus is really doing something here for us all!! He wants to make a very strong point!! Both to Simon and yes to us!! Do you LOVE ME? Yes Lord; YOU know that I love YOU!! Now if we are Simon,and the Lord has asked us a question,then Jesus asks the very same question,we would wonder, first why? and 2 we would perhaps have some doubt within us!
Jesus said Shepherd my sheep!! Difference here!! You all know what a Shepherd is!! A Shepherd never leaves the flock he has been given,for any reason! A Shepherd is always watchful!! You see brothers and sisters we know of many of proclaim Jesus to others, they arrive in a city for a few days,many receive Jesus,and that person moves on,saying I am an Evangelist I do not stay in one place,I am called to proclaim to many the Gospel.
Well if this is true,show me one place in the Word of God, where the disciples did not establish churches before they left them? They say well many Churches are already there.True,but not many Churches are walking in the same love you are proclaiming either!
Don't you think you also have a responsibility to make sure these lost sheep find a Bible based Church as well? Most when asked smile and walk away,well you don't understand mark! Really? Perhaps it is not me who does not understand!! Perhaps it is some of them.
Notice I did say some!! not all! Now getting back to us here! verse 17 He said to him a third time!!! Simon, SON!!!! of John,a son is to learn from his father yes? A SON is to take on the very nature of his or her Father yes?? Since this is true then!! DO YOU LOVE ME?? Tend my sheep! 1. tend my lambs, young,Shepherd my sheep!! Grown ones,3. Tend my SHEEP! LOVE them equal!! all of them!! The very same way I have loved each of you!! Now you see a different light on this,as Holy Spirit showed me!!
For us,we know we LOVE GOD, when we present his Word to others! Each of us sheep,look after the others,those older,command respect from the younger ones,and since this is so,the older ones are to be the example to the young ones,not just by words,but in deeds!!
As you read further from here to verse 25 it says, and there are also many other things which Jesus did!! Which if they were written in detail I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books!!! that were written!
Jesus did not leave them until!! He knew they knew he LOVED THEM!! THEN!!! Acts follows!! Not odd, a true revelation to each one of us! He now empowers them!( acts 1:12-26) ( Acts 2:4) and finally!! ( acts 2:39!!) We know God knows we love him!! By loving one another in HIM!
By not judging,but by leading,showing,yes loving!! because there is no fear in LOVE!! You have no fear,because God LOVES YOU!! Since this is so!! Then we love each other in him! Many of you do this every day! By helping a poor soul out with food,finding a place for someone to stay,etc...( matt 25:35-40!!!!!) The face may be different,they may not look like Jesus to us,but they are Jesus!! May this lift you high in our loving Lord!! For behold my brothers and sisters!!! When you have done this to the very least of my people!! YOU!!!! Have done this unto me!! Thank God for his LOVE!! and Thank God we his People can KNOW!!! God loves us every single day!! amen! TEND MY SHEEP!
