How does one seek God with there whole heart? This is a question i ask because i feel like God is telling me that i have never truly seeked Him and if i want deliverance from my situation than i must seek Him fully with my WHOLE heart and not just some of it, but the thing is that i don't know how. I myself don't know how to get on my knees and pray for hours, i feel like i wouldn't know what to say to Him if i was to pray for an hour or more. I wanna seek Him with absolutely everything i have but i don't know how. How does one completely give Him charge of our lives and everything that we own? How does one give Him EVERYTHING? So i ask you who are perhaps well equipped to guide me in this.

How does one seek God with there whole heart? You have a situation God said your not seeking enough to be delivered from?

Without faith, your not going to get very far. Everything we receive from God came from us believing something. We believe God for the Grace, or faith in his grace, from what God said. Even getting born again works on this principle.

Joh 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Psa 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

So, praying to God about something continually, is someone that has not taken the time in the Word to find out what God thinks about it. Once a person is settled on what God has written in the Word about it, and they believe it, then what God said becomes much larger than the issue. This is called faith.

It's God's Word that is confirmed with signs following, it's the Word that never returns void, it's the Word that caused Joshua to make his own way prosperous. It's the Word that delivers from destruction.

We can pray, and pray, and pray thinking we are seeking God, but if we never take the time to look up what he has actually spoken in the past, what he has said. If we never agree with God who calls those things that be not as though they were. Our situation won't change, or it just gets worse.

When My own son got sick with Cancer, I did not pray about it, I spoke what God said over the situation, with long life I'll satisfy you, I make perfect those things that concerned you. I just thanked God for keeping his word and being faithful.

When I gave my life to Jesus, I did not ask if He would save me, I just confessed that I am making Jesus Lord of my life, and to forgive me. It took but that one confession to settle it for me. I was born again, and received it.

Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

If you see God say one thing about something, but we keep saying something different, for example.

Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

As Opposed to saying:

Mike 34:4
"We never seem to get ahead, if it's not one bill, it's another, or something needs fixed."

Seeking God in his Word, causes faith (Rom 10:17) It causes faith for us to believe past those things we see, for the just shall not walk by sight, but by faith.

So, concerning your situation, write down everything God said in his word that pertains to it, meditate on those things, speaking them as being true in your life. Tell God you believe everything he said without question. Seek him in what He has said about you.

it aint just on your knees praying for hours. the bible says to pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17) now i would also like to add, i fall short in this also. i get distracted by work, no driving drivers on the road, w/e. its keeping Him in your thoughts. wanting to obey. its a desire to have Him in your life. its your heart crying out to him even when there are no words. its having Him before all other things. if something becomes more important, then its the shedding of this from your life. the first command of the 10 is first for a reason. (thou shalt have no other gods before me) and anything can become an idol. this isnt a check list just what comes to mind.
you ever been in love? when you are you wanna spend time with the one you love. you desire it above all else. its kinda like that. kinda.
the bible tells us to seek his righteousness and his kingdom. matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
notice it says to seek it first. the bible also says to give God your first fruits. God deserves nothing less than our best. He gave to us his best. his son as an unspotted sacrifical lamb to take away our sin.
so my advice is to examine your life. whats more important than God to you. ( i dont mean that in a bad way) just what is first to you? if something is more important discipline yourself to make it second. or third or remove it totally. whatever you need to keep God first. maybe nothing needs to be removed. i dont know.
for me reading the bible is like putting a fresh battery in my spirit.

In just ordinary words, whatever your situation is the answer for it is in the Bible. Gods word is very complete. Seek in the Bible the situation you are in. Whatever it is, ask your computer where it is addressed in the Bible. Go study that.

Then you have to accept his answer. Bow your head and give your own will over to God.

That is the whole key to it all. You have to throw your will away and accept what God tells you.

I found I could not have faith, good strong faith, until I did fully accept Gods will. It was only then that I did begin to understand many things. And to also accept that many things I do not understand fully, but little by little, faith grows and answers do become clear.

Hope this helps.

Kit

where Gods will is known.

Pretty profound, but Faith can only begin where the Will of God is known. Without faith, or knowing his will about something, you can not please God. (Heb 11:6)

You certainly can not have faith that I might buy you a pizza for lunch, if I have never mentioned it to you before.

If you wish to contribute with your knowledge of the Word, then please take the time, energy, and effort to do so, like the rest of us.

If you wish to promote directly or indirectly (Google searches) You will need permission from the site moderator Chad. Please leave him a P.M, and it will get passed down to us that you have been approved.

My hope is that I don't have to mention this again.

This person's signature sounds like what we were talking about in our small group one Wednesday.

We talked about how to be transparent so the Light of Jesus could shine through us, to be see through. We talked about how we have barriers, walls that separate us from God...it could be anything. It could be our past. It could be sin. It could be anything that distracts us or takes us away from God.

James 4:8 says draw near to God and He will draw near to you. We must move first.

There's a song our used to sing at our church that says "No walls between us."

It is easier to build a wall than to take it down. (I'm not talking about physical walls made of brick and mortar.) When we resurrect a wall between us and God, the barrier is thick and we can't see through it. Our Light can't shine through.

I know God knows everything, sees all, but I also think that if we put up a wall between us He won't break it down until we allow Him to do so. It's like having a secret place where we don't want God to go...a dirty closet full of hidden secrets we think He knows nothing about. But it is still there because we haven't taken the time to sit down with God and go through the trash. It's the only way He'll be able to remove the wall...if you let Him into every part of you.

It takes time. It will be painful. Once you clean up the closet, God will be closer than He has ever been.

I remind myself when I feel like God is far away it isn't that HE moved, but "I" did!

"I" build the wall. "I" make things harder than they are. "I" hide from God. "I" am the one that needs Him more. "I" am the one that needs healing. And once we realize we aren't really "all that" and we aren't where we thought we were in God...because I believe we might think we are real close to God, but if we would forget about who's closer to God and just get close to Him...we'll realize it doesn't matter who's closer to God. What matters is if "I" am going after God with every part of me and if Jesus' light is shining through the transparent me.

The Bible says "I die daily" I believe it was Paul that said it. So, this is a daily thing. Dying to self and living for God. So, every day you will have to ask God to break down the walls, to make you transparent, to show Himself to you. And He will! Praise God!

Greetings in the Lord Jesus;

My brother, I wrote a post in Seeking Jesus; Have You found Him Yet?
Rather than write it all over again; maybe go there and read that. I will be glad to assist you any further.

I will say this; We have to want Him more than anything in this carnal fleshly world.
If thine eye be single, the whole body is full of light.
The eye is the heart. God sees our heart. Is He all that is in there? or are we still trying to do things for ourselves. His ways is not our ways. Amen.
God is Spirit. We have to seek Him IN Spirit and IN truth.
Everything to do with God is the complete opposite of what we do in this carnal fleshly world.
They speak with there lips, but their heart is far from me. Amen.
If you will revolve your life around Jesus, your very being of who you are; Jesus will revolve around your life, and He will become your very being. Amen
All praise, honor, and glory be to God. Amen.

Greetings to all,

Beware of heresy to let yourself, so you will not get lost to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do not believe everything to holy, what people may serve to you as holy. You will find in the Bible that which is holy, and the Holy Spirit teach you the rest of what belong to the holy, if you live to doing the works of the Spirit.

Also who has had a teacher gift to gift, can help you in much, but be sure that this gift is given from the heaven to him.

The true teacher does not teach for the itching ears, instead he exhorts to repentance, for God obedient holy, spiritual life, to love others and to give our extra part to those who need that, being himself a good example in all of this.

The world is full of so-called spiritual reading and music, but I’m not recommending to you no other than the Bible. Keep your faith pure and be holy, because God the Father Almighty is holy. Thanks and glory for him, forever and ever, and for his holy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ . Amen.

Read the word of God on a regular basis.
Other than that, learn how to meditate to God. There are many proven techniques out there and just keep your focus on the one true God. With practise, you will become more efficient at it and will find pleasant results. Doesn't require hours of praying, God knows what is in your heart. Just learn to quite yourself and you will find yourself communicating spiritually with God like never before.

I wanna seek Him with absolutely everything i have but i don't know how. How does one completely give Him charge of our lives and everything that we own? How does one give Him EVERYTHING? So i ask you who are perhaps well equipped to guide me in this.

That term "your whole heart" means to give as much as you can give at the time you're doing the giving. I first gave my whole heart to Jesus in 1983 and since then, through the work of His Spirit, my heart for Him has grown a lot.

The human will is relatively untouched by the fall and it is strong. We can seek God with our whole heart if we use our will and set our mind to it. Whatever we will, then the rest of our heart (thoughts, feelings, spirit, conscience) follows. The more we appreciate Christ the more we will want to seek Him.
