Over Memorial Day weekend I was visiting family at their ranch in Okemah, OK (a small ranch town SE of Tulsa.) On that Sunday I decided to leave early and take a visit to Moore to see what I could do. Having no idea what I was going to do there, I started praying. I wanted to help someone in a special way and not just donate like most people, so I prayed for that if it was God's will. (Of course there is nothing wrong with donating, as that is how the victims are being compensated for their lost belongings!) When I got to Moore, on I-35, the devastation could be seen from my left and right. It was horrible. Heritage Baptist Church had many people helping there, and so were the other churches I saw. I decided to go to Walmart to see what was going on there, and not to my surprise there were tents and trailers there for people to donate, which is great! I went inside and didn't make it past the cash registers before I though, "What exactly am I going to do in here? Probably nothing." So I picked up an energy drink and got in a line. That line was full so I picked a shorter line. The lady in front of me, and her daughter, had a shopping cart full of groceries and offered me to go ahead of them. I declined as I was in no hurry. Before it was her turn to check out she offered again and I respectfully declined again. While the cashier was scanning her groceries, they were having a conversation about the tornado and how they were both affected. She looked like a sinlgle mom as well as I didn't see a wedding ring. After a few minutes she had all of her groceries scanned and was ready to pay, but her debit card got declined....this is when The Holy Spirit got my attention. I was put right there in line behind this woman whom was just trying to buy groceries for her and her daughter. The cashier tried her card again but it declined once more. She sighed with frustration and I could see she was wondering how things could get any worse. At that instance I slid my card through the reader without even saying anything and put in PIN in. The recepit printed out and I handed it to her. She was speachless, she couldn't even get a word out! I just paid for my drink and went on my way. She was still standing beside the register with her daughter and cart full of groceries in disbelief about what I just did! She said, "Hey sir!?" So I turned around and walked to them. She said, "But I..I just can't do this...I can't..." and so I put my arm around her and said, "But I want to do this," smiled, told them to have a good night, and walked away. I rejoiced and thanked God that whole night for what He had placed in front of me so I could help someone, JUST LIKE I HAD PRAYED FOR! That lady and her daughter will never forget that, nor will the cashier or the people behind me who saw me do it. What I also found amazing is how The Holy Spirit guided me to Walmart and into the right line when I thought I was doing it all on my own!

God can do so much with a heart that is willing and receptive to His guidance.
