How to Rest in His Love!
Hebrews 4:16
"Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need 'appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it]."
This is our invitation to 'Rest' in Kingdom living.
Vs. 11 says "Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter that 'rest' [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience [into which those in the wilderness fell]."
God gave me a beautiful vision last night of what He has for us if we will just accept His Love and His invitation to us. He wants us to pursue and be diligent in this pursuit to enter that 'rest'. Remember we are often like the 'children of Israel' who kept doubting God after seeing Him do miracle after miracle. The displeased the Lord. And today we displease Him when we fail to trust Him after we have seen Him bless us or do a miracle for us. In fact, today, we have the Holy Spirit of God living in us and we have all the 'promises' from the Word and the children of Israel had neither of these. How we grieve the heart of God with our unbelief and not accepting His Love.
Last night as I sat in His Presence getting ready to pray I saw what is talked about in the first verse above. I felt so much love coming from the Father. Then I saw a double gate made of feather pillows open (what a picture of rest). Along the path to the Throne were angels on either side ushering me into the Throne room. I was able to walk confidently, fearlessly and boldly down the path between the rows of angels right up to His Throne. I saw Him on His Throne with arms extended waiting for me to come right into His Arms.
I knew I could as a child crawl upon His lap and put my head against His chest if I needed love or comfort or just needed Him. Or I could just stand before Him and let Him put His arm around me or His Hand even just on my shoulder. However, I needed Him I knew that is what I would receive. I stood before Him and He said, "What is it that you need, my daughter? Ask what you will and I will do it for you."
What an awesome picture of the Throne Room. It was so beautiful and filled with colors and glistened and shined. It was a place of Love. Filled and radiated with Love. It was just waiting for me. There was no line to get in. As I entered I knew I belonged. God had invited me to come before His Throne. There was no fear. I was clean. Jesus had paid the price for me and God only saw me as righteous, pure and clean.
Now as I stood before Him I was bold and I knew I could ask whatever I wanted…but I first just wanted to try and tell Him how much I loved Him and what He meant to me. This so pleased Him. I realized how He loves to hear that! And I knew that all that I would ask would be provided. I was with Him and He was with me. We were One.
Friend, He wants you to lay down all preconceived ideas and come 'boldly' to Him. He longs for you to just come to Him. He longs to touch you, to love you, to meet your every need! But you must do your part – you have to 'come' to Him. He doesn't see your sins, not if you asked Him to forgive you. You are clean. That is how God sees you! He longs for your heart to believe in Him and in His Love and for you to so trust Him. He longs to bless you! You would not believe what He has stored up for you, if you would just 'fearlessly and boldly, confidently come to Him. Stand boldly before Him. Receive His Love. And in this place you will 'know' that God will absolutely take care of you! He will do what a God of Love, Who Is Love, will do for you.
