I have a question please help me!!!

Hi friends,
I have seen many people going to christian homes. They pray for a minute and then they open their Bible and ask for money.

For instance a few years back a person came to our house. He prayed for a minute and then he opened his Bible and asked for money. I was alone at home with my brother. Since we didn't have money and didn't like the way he spoke, we just said we don't have money.The person just closed the Bible with anger and just walked away very fast.We were very shocked by his behaviour.

I have seen many people coming to christian homes and sometimes churches they pray and then ask for money.

I want to know is it correct for people to open the Bible and ask for money..

I think it was wrong..if I say no I have no money.

That person's job was to grab my hands and pray for my household to be blessed.
Not walk away angry.

Money is a very touchy subject, if in your heart you feel to give do so.
If not, extend your hands to that person and say

" I don't have money, but I can pray with you and for you "

I voted "can't say" because I think that this is one of those questions where a blanket answer cannot be applied. We have to remember that Natashea lives in a part of the world where extreme poverty is rampant. It's not mine to decide if the man was dishonest or not because I only have a smidgen of information as to what happened in that encounter. Maybe the man was really in a financial pinch. Maybe he had no food. We don't know. In such incidents we have to pray for discernment and act based upon what we think God is telling us at that time.

"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves." (Mt 10:16)

Thank you so much for your reply. I just want you to know something more to this, to give you an idea of what is happening here in India, if you don't mind.

I want you to know that this happened to me and my sister Natashea about six or seven years back. We were alone at home and our parents happened to go and buy the provisions for us, for that month.

I also want you to know that this is common here in India. I do agree with the option you voted because I don't know if you ever came to India or not, but I want you to know that these kind of situations are common here in India.

They go to many homes collect money, but we don't know if it is really going for God's work or not. Some of them, they go to Christian homes dressed up like a Pastor, but after they are gone from there, you can see them in the next home and in the next minute dressed up as Hindu priests. So by this, I think you can understand a little part of what is going on here in India.

When we can see God's work being done by a pastor, nothing will stop us from giving them money, but when we can't see God's work being done, what is the use? My sister actually related her question to people like this who come home and collect money using the bible.

The main reason why there is so much of Poverty and suffering in India is because of the corruption in the government.

I'm giving nobody grounds for lumping me in with those money-grubbing "preachers," vaunting themselves as something special. They're a sorry bunch—pseudo-apostles, lying preachers, crooked workers—posing as Christ's agents but sham to the core. And no wonder! Satan does it all the time, dressing up as a beautiful angel of light. So it shouldn't surprise us when his servants masquerade as servants of God. But they're not getting by with anything. I don't think so it's biblical. God has redeemed us freely and asked nothing in return,,, likewise, in sharing God's word or praying for a brother or a sister, we should not expect anything in return. Opening a bible is a privilege to start a ministry of salvation, healing or praying which is a manifestation of our love to God.

Personally, my brother-in-law was a former pastor of a church here in our place with that kind of doctrine. They preach in public places while members are roaming around with offering bags. But then, the Lord had rebuked him one time, till he was freed from that false doctrine... Now, he's part of our church...

But I was also able to read what Bro. Richie wrote about the real scenario,,, I suggest they better directly ask for money presenting the problems they have in their church instead of using God's Word in exchange )-; but if they're just pretending, better rebuke them in a nice way...

I just pray that the Holy Spirit would protect you from false brethren and would give you wisdom on how to deal with them...

No offense at all, Richie. I've never been to India. However, I receive Voice of the Martyrs magazine monthly and read of problems and persecution that believers in your part of the world suffer.
