Ever since I gave my life to Christ I have had a fascination with birds and seeing them is sometimes how Jesus communicates with me. A couple of months after I gave my life to Christ I finally got my car out of the body shop. It had been in there for a few months because I couldn't afford the repair cost since I only had liability insurance (I slid on ice and hit a pole). So I finally got it back and was VERY excited because cars have been my main passion since I was a baby (I would have a diaper full of Hot Wheels). When driving it to work for the first time after getting it back I had the windows down and was in pure joy of what God had given back to me. I thanked God loudly and expressively and right when I did that a HUGE EAGLE SWOOPED DOWN RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY WINDSHIELD, going the same direction as my car!! So it flew over my windshield and hood! I'm talking the biggest bird I've ever seen, besides ostriches and stuff you know, and it's wings stretched from one side of my car to the other. Chills went ll the way up my spine and all I felt paralyzed when it happened. (Thank God or else I might have gotten into another wreck!) After it swooped RIGHT in front of my windshield it flew up into a tree and I KNEW that was God speaking to me. Absolutely unforgettable moment with Christ.

You know, I believe the Lord uses birds in my life, as well. But I don't have a story like yours! WOW!!!! I think I would have been shaking all over. Who sees an eagle anytime? And especially one flying in the same direction with their car... like, "up close and personal!" I will not deny that it was God for you, my brother.
For me, it seems to happen whenever a huge worry plagues me, like perhaps a trip that I'm apprehensive about. A neighbor's peacock, that NEVER came near my home, suddenly appeared on the scene before my travel, dropping its long feather on my porch like God's calling card. It touched my heart SO much, so BEAUTIFUL with all it's multi-colored design. It brought immediate comfort that God thought so highly of me. Also, if I absolutely need God's immediate Presence, it seems He'll place a blue jay in my path. As soon as I see it I feel calm, knowing the Lord is reassuring that all will be okay. It's wonderful. So I know exactly what you're talking about. But an eagle, my brother. An eagle. Wow, and double wow! (I forgot about the white egrets in Louisiana when I was alone at Bible College. They were sentinals standing proudly by the sides of the highway whenever I drove to my part time job, as if they were teaching me to set my face like a flint. No kidding. Oh how rich is our God's LOVE. How so very rich. Be blessed, my brother. Your thread was just what I needed for this moment. Are you a regular bird watcher?

Thanks for your reply! I didn't sleep so good last night and I woke up a bit disheartened, then checked my phone and read your reply and was reminded of how good Christ's love is. I'm not a bird expert and only know the common birds, nor am I a bird watcher. But I do notice birds more than your average person because God speaks to me through them sometimes and reassures me I'm right where he wants me to be. I'm so glad God uses birds to brighten your walk with Him also! Thank you!

You said what I now remember feeling, that God has a way of reassuring us that we're right where He wants us. You are an excellent communicator, TJ, and I really enjoy reading how the Lord is working in your life. If you'd like to plug into a fantastic international youth group that you might consider involving your brother in, I believe there's a way to get the website program to you by emailing privately. Except maybe you can tell me how emailing privately works, ha! As I'm so new on this that I'm just cranking out thoughts and not taking time to explore...big fault of mine.
