Hi fellas! My name is Joshua Chrzanowski. I need y’all help. I’m 17 years old and have been saved since I was 7 years old. Go to church on a regular basis and I actually lead a young mens bible study on Monday mornings!! I have a question id like to run by y’all and see what your opinion and answers are to a few questions! I feel called to international missions ever since I was younger and honestly my mind has not changed. I have no intentions of getting married any time soon but eventually I would love someone who could join me and witness to others along side of me. A help mate. As I’ve matured in my walk with God and just in general my desire for a dating relationship has changed drastically from wanting physical and impure things to a more spiritual and gratifying relationship that leads both of us to Christ. There’s a wonderful girl I’m talking to who personally I think is absolutely phenomenal and one of the best girls I’ve ever met. Except she is not seeking God in her daily life and it doesn’t seem to be a priority to her. What perplexes me is that she isn’t church yet she doesn’t cuss, use substances, or anything of that nature simply because she views it as wrong! There’s no biblical law withholding her from doing things of this world and I love that about her. In proverbs 31 it talks about an excellent woman and in the last couple of verses talking about a wonderful woman fears the Lord and while all of those qualities are great. They are secondary to chasing after God. This describes my predicament. I’m stuck between calling things off and waiting for God to place a driven woman towards the Lord or poring into her and showing her how much I love God in turn hopefully opening the door to her heart. I’ve been trying to kinda pry at her alittke bit about how she feels about it and she does believe in God but she has a lot of confusion about it. I asked her for 3 questions about what boggles her minhd the most.

1- Where did the Bible come from? Like I know it’s super old, but like, where did it come from or who wrote it?

2- idk if this one even makes sense, or applies to anyone lol, but, what makes us feel like we, as human beings, need to believe in anything. Like, why do we feel obligated to have certain beliefs based on the Bible and everything.

3- where did the idea of heaven and hell even come from. Like were they in the Bible, or what?

I feel that I could answer these based on my spiritual maturity and walk with God but I wanted someone with more knowledge and guidance to shed some light on them and hopefully y’all can shed some light on the entire situation.

Thank you all so much for your consideration and time! I love y’all!

Greetings Joshua,

you seem to have a mixed bag of goodies there and need to put some in the fridge and some in the cupboard and perhaps some in the bathroom or laundry!

A bit like someone offering you a plate of mixed dishes and asking you to choose one.

Do you want to write some of that out again. It may help you to find the answer(s) while doing so, and it will help you to ask more specifically what it is you are asking.... if that make sense?

Look forward to hearing back from you

Bless you ....><>

Hi there! Thank you so much for the response! Sorry I do have a lot I’m asking

My main focus are these questions

Hi Joshua, I have a son named Josh. These are heavy questions. But it is good you are thinking about these things.
I don't have time to answer them all this morning, but likely others will chime in.

I will start with the easiest one. Question 3 above. The simple answer is... yes heaven and hell are talked about in the Bible .
The word heaven is mentioned over 400 times in the Bible. Hades and hell are mentioned over 20 times in the new testament (the newer part of the Bible).

Thank you so much for your time! That does make sense — it really comes down to the fact that Gods word is breath out and inspire by Him. And it is true. That means that everything within it is also true!

People could answer these questions in detail. But I'm afraid that there will probably just be more questions. The important questions to ask are is she even looking for the truth? Or is she just looking to make her life happier?

If she does not have a relationship with God then she cannot hold the same values as someone who does have a relationship with God. I'm assuming that you have a relationship with God. But it is always easier to pull others down than to lift them up.

That said if she enjoys reading and is looking for for the truth then can I suggest a few books? Jesus Among other Gods by Ravi Zacharias, The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel, and Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis.

Wow. I will definitely be looking for answers to that. I’ll seek clarity from her. I want to thank all of you immensely for your words of wisdom and encouragement. I will definitely be looking at the top two! I’ve actually read mere Christianity. It was phenomenal and am just finishing Screwtape letters as well. Both astounding books.

@Jpchrzano -- you've shared that you feel called to international missions. And you want a young woman with you who feels the same calling / desire as you do.

Well -- this young lady -- as phenomenal as she apparently Is -- Isn't looking in that direction.

You're very young. At 17 yrs. of age, of Course your hormones are letting you know it's time to 'settle down'. You said you accept Christ as your Savior at 7 yrs of age.

Doesn't going into international missions require more education for you? Bible college at least?! How old is the young lady? I'd suggest that you continue to pursue your calling into missions and see who / if anyone would come into your life.

I'm speaking from the perspective of being 70 and having married a guy who was called into the pastorate -- that meant 4 yrs of Bible college and some seminary. He accepted Christ his senior year of high school. I'm the 'young lady' he'd fallen in love with. He went to USAF for four years and then 4 years of college and a year of seminary. We did get married after 7 years. We both had some growing up to do before actually being ready For marriage and the ministry.
