er... Lately, I've been thinking about suicide a lot. I have in the past, but I wouldn't do it. I didn't want to hurt my family. But lately, my family doesn't seem like it cares.
We sit at the table and talk, but its all lies. We don't seem to have any love in my family. Its hollowing. My friends at school are distant, ignoring me sometimes. It just really sucks.

Sorry about unloading that onto you.
You don't have to reply, I feel better just for writing that.

-Taters.

Here is the answer I gave him.
Do you think I helped him?

Wow.
I have never in my life have someone tell me they are thinking of doing this.

Well here goes.

Lets start off with one thing. Everyone has has family troubles some family's may have it worse than you do.
Suicide is not anyway to fix anything not at all.

I am a christian. And i don't want to get into all this religion stuff with you cause I don't know if you will be offeneded in some way or the other so I am going to tell you only one or two things.
As Christians we believe Suicide is one of those things that you DO NOT want to do. We believe suicide will lead you know where but Hell. And Hell is not a cool place at all...Can you imagine burning in Hell for all eternity? It would not be cool at all. One thing you must remember is God Loves you no matter what. He wants the best for you and he doesn't want to see you get hurt. If you have any friends that go to church, I suggest you go with them to maybe a Youth Service because it could help out a whole lot. I know this from experience.

Now lets get into family.
Family is very very very important. Families will fight, argue I must tell you that, But it always gets better in the end.
What i suggest is you go to the school counselor maybe and talk to him/her about your problems you are having with your family. It will surely make a difference and will help a lot.
If seeing a counselor doesn't help, I suggest you go to a professional counselor and talk to them.

As for your friends..
Friends can be a real pain sometimes..I know because I have gone throught it as well.
One thing I can tell you is.. If it seems your friends are doing these things to you then their not really your friends..
Just hang in there with the whole friends thing. Even if you maybe have to start hanging out with the "nerds" :P Its alright, at least you will have someone there for you.

Last year I had a friend Reuben and I only talked to him once or twice but I wish I would have been able to talk to him more.. about God. Because He took his life and no one ever really got to tell him about God. I pray for him a lot that God may have mercy on his soul and would take him with him to his Kingdom in Heaven. Same goes for you. I will pray for you and your family and your friends because It will help.

So lastly, All I really have to say is, Do Not Take Your Life Please. It would be the biggest mistake of your life and just like that you could be sent down to Hell to burn for eternity. Don't do it.

If you have anymore problems Please PM me.

LRD: Your motive was great, but, I personally would not have started out talking about condemnation to someone who's already feeling condemned. You did speak of God's love very powerfully, and that is great. However, if you get an opportunity to build a relationship with Tater,do so and work on that and, in the beginning, lay off of the God stuff unless Tater mentions him first.

It is through a relationship with you (and other Christians) that Tater can be brought to the Lord, but, its a process, not an event. I'm 70 yrs old and I've been around awhile. If I can help you in this, please feel free to PM me.

Thank You for that.
And I totally understand what you mean.

[F]Hey LRD! I'm a youth leader and would like to give you some advice on the issue if I may. I have a lot of girls who have suicidal thoughts and others who cut themselves so here's some quick pointers.

1. First of all, I hope this guy Tater isn't from TJ because he has access to this thread and can read everything we are saying! Let me know if he's from here and I will delete the thread

2. Be really positive when you talk to him. Your positivity will rub off on him.

3. Show him what God did in YOUR life. Use your testimony... that's what it's there for

4. Be practical with it. Point out the obvious. Our problems never last forever and just like the song goes "you've got me and Jesus". Show him the love of God by loving him yourself

Be blessed
