Testimony of an ex-mormon;

"The only foundation we can rely upon is the 'Holy Bible'.

Let's face it, in the 1800's there was an explosion of American Christian Cults. Cult, simply meaning a new way of life or a new gospel. The Mormons, Jehova Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventist, Chrisian Science, ect...........It is all the the same thing 'Unbelief'. The Bible says that unbelievers will be thrown into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8)

These and other all claim to be the only way to Heaven and be the only Truth ect.......

The only way for a person to determine if any of these so called religions are true, is to compare them to the foundational teachings found the the Bible.

What you will find in all these cults is they flagaranlty oppose and contridict even the most basic Biblical principles such as God created the earth by the power of his word (mormons taught the earth always existed and he orgaized the matter), virgin birth of christ (mormons teach that elohim came down and got it on with Mary), diety of Christ being fully man and fully GOD (mormons say Jesus was created and is simply our older brother and Satans brother, what blaspemhy), Jesus for our sin by bemoing the sacrificial Lamb on the cross (mormons teach He atoned in the Garden of Geth and we must live worthy and abide in certain works to earn salvation).

These are just a few. There is so much false teaching and unbelief in theses cults it hurts my heart. I have family that still is brainwashed by their pride in having the only true church. Paul sternly warns in Galatians chapter 1 that if an Angel like Moroni comes and preaches or introduces new doctrine or a new Jesus, he will be condemend to HELL.

The church is the believers in Christ, not a Building or a religious organization or set of beliefs of a membership. Salvation can only be found in Christ. Jesus said that 'I am the Way the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father except be me". Well, Brigham Young said the opposite, he said "No man can enter in the presence of the Eternal Father without Joseph Smiths permission. If that doesn't scare you then it might be to late for You!

I am amazed when Mormons tell me they believe in Jesus. I think it must be a Jesus of thier own understanding, much like you might hear in a 12 step recovery meeting. To Believe in Jesus of Nazareth, you would have to Believe in the things He has said!

You must be willing to obey Christ and abide in What he has said. He commanded us in Matthew to "BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS". The only thing I can say to Mormons is to take that very seriously. Because when you stand before Christ at the Great White Throne, your Bishop will not be there to Hold your hand nor will any misssionaires. You need to know Christ today!

Come to Christ by falling on your knees, confess you are a sinner and you need His forgiveness. Thank Him for Dying on the Cross for you. Ask Him to write your name in Heavens book and promise Him you will obey his Word and ask Him to come into your Life and be Your Lord.

He will come into your Life Supernaturally via the Holy Spirit. He will give you a spiritual life in Him. You will be amazed.

I am 28 years old. I was Mormon. I resigned. I gave my Life to Christ in 2004. I never had any idea how much God knew me and Loved me. The blood of Jesus washed my sins so far away I almost don't remember them. He can do the same for you!

Being a mormon is no different then Islam. Joseph Smith and Muhhammed did the same thing, they are like two peas in a pod! Both claimed visits from an angel and wrote a new scripture and started leading folks down the Broad road that Jesus spoke of.

As a Mormon I never really read the Bible, because I was afraid it would contridict what I believed. Boy was I right, everythime I read it I got more confused until I stopped reading it. But today I am a 'Born Again' believer in Christ, I love to read the Bible and read it daily. James describes this trouble Mormons face with reading the Bible well.....

James 1:23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.

It's like with my family that is Mormon, I read scriptures and witness to them the Words of Christ, they seem to agree, but then they continue to belong to and attend the Mormon church and take part in the falsehood. I don't get it. I think the biggest problem is they have no Fear of God! My born again experience all began with a overwhelming Fear of God in my life, like an awsome awe. Proverbs says the Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom!!!

Great thread Coco . These things must be brought out into the light , without fear of judgement from others . I have been told by members how harsh I am . So was Jesus Christ when he delt with lying devils .

I am not here to be popular . Lord knows I am the most despised here . But the truth will be our guide and Christ and only Christ will be exalted at TalkJesus . MikeT4G

Amen Mike! Paul said he suffered as an evil doer for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, but he did`nt stop there, and in his message is the ageless echo of victory..." for even tho I may be bound, the Word of God is not bound! Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory."

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly known as the Mormon church, teaches doctrines in direct opposition to historic Christianity, yet it claims to be the true church of Jesus Christ. Is Mormonism really Christian?

If we say we have faith (James 2:14) but we have no works in correspondence to that faith, then that faith won't save us because it is a dead faith. This agrees with Paul who tells us that faith is what saves us, "Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom. 5:1).

This faith is real faith, or true saving faith, not just an empty mental acknowledgement of God's existence which is what those who "say" they have faith but show no corresponding godliness are guilty of. Incidentally, you should realize that faith is only as good as who you put it in. Just having faith in something doesn't mean you're saved. That is why it is important to have the True Jesus, because if you have great faith but it is in the wrong Jesus, then your faith is useless.

In Mormonism Jesus is the brother of the devil begotten through sexual intercourse from a God who came from another planet.
In Jehovah's Witnesses he is Michael the Archangel who became a man.
In the New Age Movement he is a man in tune with the divine consciousness. Which is true?
The only true Jesus is the one of the Bible, the one who is prayed to (1 Cor. 1:1-2 with Psalm 116:1; Acts 7:55-60);
worshipped (Matt. 2:2, 11, 14:33, John 9:35-38, Heb. 1:8),
and called God (John 20:28; Col. 2:9).
The Jesus of the Cults is not prayed to, worshipped, or called God.
And since the Jesus of the Bible is the only one who reveals the Father (Luke 10:22) so that you may have eternal life (John 17:3), you must have the true Jesus who alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6)."

Again, Coconut, another excellent thread.

My husband and I finished our last "in-home" Bible study, with 3 from the Mormon faith, about a month or so ago.

All they asked us to do was read the Mormon Book.

At first, I did not want to read another whole book when there is quite enough to read in the Holy Bible, itself, but I prayed and asked the Holy Spirit to show me the truth where I might have error and vise versa.

I read the introductory and the testamonial, at the beginning of the book, and had already had my eyes opened to discrepancies. I went ahead, though, and read several pages of the first book and had so many questions, backed up with, truly, God-inspired Scripture that I had to stop and wait 'til I asked the Mormons all the questions about just the little I had already read.

I had notes and Scripture verses written all over the pages that I had read. I had so many questions for the Mormons and, really, there wasn't enough space for me to write down everything I wanted to ask them that, I felt, contradicted the, true, God-inspired Scriptures.

They were amazed and astonished, as was I, (because the Lord had showed me so much when I was weary of the challange at the beginning) that they decided to invite me to their church and said they would have to get back with me on certain points that I made.

They, also, at that time gave us a DVD to watch that had to do with a, supposed, great prophet of God who is living today. MY husband and I tried to watch it, one evening, but it wouldn't work in our DVD for some reason. We never got around to it, and other than being curious about it we may or may not ever get around to it.

My husband and I, both, believed we were, actually, here for those who came to us, but we have not furthered the opportunity as of yet.

As you know, Coconut, my husband and I have some things the two of us need to work out, first.

A year or two before this, we were visited by "Jehovah's Witnesses" and I really liked them until they spoke about Jesus not being God and there being no Hell for which unbelievers will be cast into to burn.

I tried to go along with them on their understanding of Hell but it did not get backed up by Scripture, even though, they tried so very hard to convince me. I just never could understand it the way they explained it to me; even though, I must admit, I wanted to believe that their way of understanding the Scriptures about Hell was correct; because, I can't understand God's Justice in it.

But as far as I can tell, from the Holy Scriptures, there is a Hell and there is no denying it, no matter how much I would like to.

Any who, :o)

it is good to have read this, your thread, on the subjuct of another religion by an actual person who believed it; because, there are many! I even have an old school friend who believes and practices only the Old Testament.

I learn as I go,
