God chose Israel (The Hebrews/Jews) to be the birthplace of "The Saviour of the World," and gave only to them His Law (the Law of Moses) to prepare them for the arrival of their Messiah.

When He came He said "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." Matthew 15:24. Why did Christ say this?

Isaiah 49:6

“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.”

Israel was raised up by God to introduce Christ to the world, that He would be the means of light whereby all the world would have access to His salvation. But Israel failed miserably and killed their own Messiah. So Christ turned to the Gentiles to spread this Light to the world.

Acts 18:5-6

"And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.

And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles."

So Paul took the Light to the Gentiles as did other of the Apostles and men of God. And some 2000 years later the Gentiles who have received this Light are still taking that message to the world.

When Christ came and pronounced to Israel, " From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matt. 4:17, if Israel had accepted Christ as a nation, there would have been no Age of the Church. The Kingdom of God would have been set on this earth in Jerusalem with Christ sitting on His Throne then and there. The Kingdom would have been established on earth at that time.

So many assume that God has cast away Israel, they failed and the Church has permanently taken their place. No, that is not true!

Isaiah 14:1-3

"For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,"

The beginning of Israel's restoration is in the works. "and set them in their own land" took place in 1948 when as a wonder to the world, Israel became a nation again by the promise of God. "And they shall rule over their oppressors" is Israel taking the rule over this world from the Gentile nations during the 1000 year reign of Christ.

Paul told us in Romans 11:26-27

"And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins."

If you have say ten sheep and nine of them are with you, why would you need search for them??? You have them!! But if one has gone astray then your sheep are not complete! The Lord wants to gather ALL his sheep not just those who are presently with him. For the body of Christ must be complete to the Lord! Remember his Word?? (Matt 18:11 and Luke 19:10) I came to save that which was lost!
