Hey! God bless you!

I say this a lot nowadays and I often wonder if I repeat it too much? When we repeat repeat things so often they tend to lose meaning or they just become instinct. these words do not lose meaning, nor should they.

what does it mean to literally give somebody a blessing? I once heard somebody say "that's for God to give out, not you!" what I would like to say in that situation is that "love itself is a blessing!"

and ultimately where does all love come from? I would say it ultimately comes from God of course. spare a few, even a lot of non believers find comfort in such words.

so when I feel the enemy lately telling me to stop saying these words I resist. in any way I can, even if its just a subtle greeting I will find a way to pass God's love on.

:shade:
anyway that we choose to share love with others with heartfelt sincerity we cannot go wrong. I am glad that His Holy Spirit not only flows through our souls, but through or words of love themselves. Praise God!

Oh, and God bless you all

I don't think you can go wrong with oozing God's love  I'm always grateful when someone says that to me. And it's like you said, as long as it's heartfelt and sincere, you can't really mess it up.

All blessing flow from God, and when saying "God bless you", you are actually asking "God" to bless that person or persons. If you want to be more accurate, you could say "May God bless you" or "I pray God would bless you". But regardless, God understands that you are asking Him to bless someone(s).

Very well put. This is what I was trying to say but it came out all garbled lol.

I only utter those words if the Lord tells me to bless someone.
i'm still a bit of a legalistic jew but i try to make it a point to say something along the lines of
"May the Lord be with you"

I will bless The Lord with all my soul and should we not do unto others the same ..not at every turn but as often as i can , God commands we love The Lord with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves ..if its good for me so should I bless those around me as I can . It shows the love of Christ to all ( jew and gentile sinner and saved ) not just the chosen few that we sometimes think we are . Shouldn't the blessings of God be for whom so ever , when so ever ,where so ever...oh yeah God bless you and have a Good day.! ..i said that to guy once and he asked me why i would say that to him when i didnt know him ? becasuse God loves you and He knows you and wants the best for you was my answer .and it led to salvation ...!
