Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to share this with you, from my experience. I say this out of concern for the church and it's witness in the world.
In this age, in particular, in the world, the spirit of idolatry is like a "ruling kingdom", and there are multitudes of worshippers in that kingdom, as well as Christians, being led away from Christ Himself.
I think I could be right in saying, that we are all tempted these days with the sin of idolatry, and it is a very subtle sin which is self-deceptive. This can be a relationship, family, career, financial security, churches and even Godly work, etc., but it caters to the flesh, the self-deception being we deceive ourselves that God is in whatever we are tempted to put before Him.
I always keep watch on myself if anything starts robbing me of my time spent personally with the Lord, or if my thoughts are directed onto other things which could take me away from my relationship with Jesus, no matter how good it appears to be.
Our first-love should be Christ Himself and our relationship with Him should become more precious all the time, so that we will jealousy guard it at all costs.
Mat 22:37 Jesus answered, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "
God bless everyone here, I have been enjoying the fellowship.
