The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples see His glory. Psalm 97:6 NKJV
The three months of the summer season act as a siren calling people away from indoor hiding and toward outdoor adventure. Summer is a season that focuses on water and sunshine. People will sit on back porches and around residential fire pits enjoying the sounds of insects. It allows them to inspect a white-freckled night sky. There may be trips to the lake or banks of a nearby waterway. People will pause to see the last moment of a sunset.
Be encouraged. What you witness is a proclamation that God’s glory shows up in His creation. He didn’t have to make the evening sky beautiful, but it means something to you that He did. He didn’t have to create fire, but it has many uses. He didn’t have to create lakes, but every day someone will choose them as a destination to enjoy.
These are small things for God, but they continue to make a big difference for those who take the time to experience His wonder.
Prayer: I will praise You for the beauty of the earth, God. Let me take time this summer to enjoy what You consistently provide for me to enjoy. Someone who can do this is worth a second, third, and fourth thought. Keep my mind on You and my heart encouraged to keep remembering.
