The world has always been filled with many tragedies. People die young, accidents happen, and financial downturns abound. With advent of 24-hour news stations, the Internet, and the proliferation of wireless phones, we can find out the "bad news" in record time.

In recent days, within my easy glance, I know of a man who had a motorcycle accident resulting in a very bad head injury, a child dying in a car rollover, people in our church experiencing financial setbacks and several Christian organizations dealing with tough financial issues. To learn of these things, I never had to even turn on any media.

The Apostle Paul knew that life is tough. He sailed the rough waves of shipwreck and the terrors of people out to kill him. Friends were martyred and people he loved and nurtured in the faith suffered for their beliefs. Yet in spite of all the "bad things" he saw happening around him, Paul wrote, "... we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

How do you see life? Do you assume that all is hopeless, bad stuff happens and then we die? Or do you believe what the Bible teaches that God knows what He is doing and where this is all going? If God is God, believe in the latter. There you will find peace for your soul, even if you do not understand why God would allow these things.

Kingdom thinking is our way of life . To live is Christ , to die is gain . Mike

2Corinthians5:6-10
we are always full of confidence, then, realising that as long as we are at home in the body we are exiled from the Lord, guided by faith and not yet by sight; we are full of confidence, then, and long instead to be exiled from the body and to be at home with the Lord. and so whether at home or exiled, we make it our ambition to please Him. for at the judgement seat of Christ we are all to be seen for what we are, so that each of us may receive what he has deserved in the body, matched to whatever he has done, good or bad.

we have this body, the home for our soul, until the day our soul leaves it and the day we finally meet our Lord and saviour Jesus. on this day we shall be accountable for how we have lived our life, whether in love or for self. until that day we live by faith, not because we have personally seen Christ, but by the faith He has given to ourselves, and through the realtionship we have with Him.

are we to live then in misery, in chaos, seeking peace and self satisfaction; or are we to live in Christ. yes we are told that the road will be long and hard, but the road will not be walked alone. for He is always with us, holding our hand, guiding our steps, loving us every moment of the way

so then let us live in the love of Christ, let us love God and let us love all of His people. let us live this life safe in the knowledge that Christ loves us, that Christ wants to know us and He wants us to know and love Him. let us rejoice in this love, knowing that this life isn't everything, that this life is temporary and that our soul longs to be at peace with our Lord in His kingdom.

God bless
