In Pursuit of Christlikeness

[h=1]To pursue is to seek after
so being relentless in that pursuit
never to give in to that search
hoping positively in your chosen route[/h]
My pursuit is to be newly clothed
in Christ's holy righteousness
a righteousness not our own
but one that's adorned with God's blessedness

In this pursuit it needs recognition
that includes taking up Christ's cross
to wherever it may lead
no matter what's to be our loss

This road is a narrow way
a way that's hard and unfair
for Jesus it was a lonely track
as persecution and opposition was His share

To count ourselves as nothing
for Christlikeness is a humbling down
so to become like our saviour Jesus
mercy meek pure only wearing the gown

Never let up in this pursuit
till God rewards us finally
in the crowning day in glory
we'll be clothed in completeness fully
