Some people believe everyone is going to heaven it seems.
Some people believe very few or going to heaven.
I was just curious about the consensus here?

I voted, only true believers.

Luk 12:5 "But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!
Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
Rev 20:15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Luk 13:23 And someone said to Him, "Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them,
Luk 13:24 "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

I picked only true believers. The only exception are those who die before they are capable of making such decisions, such as the unborn, newborn, or those who are under what some call the age of grace. Even then it's important to understand that it is through the mercy of our Lord that anyone, from unborn to elderly and beyond, gets to go to heaven. Those who are old enough to understand their position as sinners make the decision to accept or reject that mercy.

Hello dear Acebopata,

do you have Scripture to support this (to me sounding) quite opinionated of an exception / rule?

it may sound nice yes, but i doubt if it is true doctrine of The LORD.

God Bless you,
dutch

btw my answer to the poll is: No not everyone will go to heaven but Only the true Wheat will go into Heaven the born again Christians (John 3:5-7) those that keep with the Gospel, but the tares (the fake christians who can be compared as to tares as they look almost like the true wheat but are counterfeit) will be gathered up and cast into the oven. Matthew 13:24-30

Good point, I probably should have added the "infants" option.

Deu 1:39 'Moreover, your little ones who you said would become a prey, and your sons, who this day have no knowledge of good or evil, shall
enter there, and I will give it to them and they shall possess it.

It seems here that children who don't know good from evil yet, will enter into the "promised land". This could be Israel, but it might also be heaven.

Isa 7:15 "He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good.
Isa 7:16 "For before the boy will know enough to refuse evil and choose good, the land whose two kings you dread will be forsaken.

It says here, that even Jesus didn't have the knowledge of good and evil when he was born.

Mat 19:13 Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.
Mat 19:14 But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as
these."

Some say the law of sin doesn't apply until you have the "knowledge of sin".
Rom 3:20 because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.

Jesus seems to indicate that infants go to heaven when they die.
Mat 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of
my Father which is in heaven.

This is controversial, but it could be that children are temporarily sanctified through a believing parent. If this is the case, then what about children of unbelievers?
1Cor 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband;
for otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.

Finally, in the end, God makes the choice.
Rom 9:15 For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION."
Rom 9:16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.

For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and loose his soul
Mark 8:36

For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord

Romans 6:23

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life
John 3:16

I believe that only true believers go to heaven.
I think that babies who dont have the capacity to make a choice to accept Jesus will not be judged as sinners and therefore have a place in heaven

My view on the unborn/age of accountability.

We must first acknowledge that scripture does not deal with this subject clearly where a case could not be made either way on whether babies born or unborn who have yet to attain decision making ability who die are saved or damned.

I can only deal with the knowledge that we serve a loving & just God, so the damned side of the argument which I have looked at though viable to a certain extent, really does not provide the entire picture. This verse does give a valid foundation for the damned position. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;. I found other references which I could have also included in this, but to be honest, I found research on the "damned" side to be rather depressing, cold, and aloof in the portrayal of God instead of the loving and just God I see throughout scripture. Yes even in the OT.

What we do know from scripture is that God does identify them as children in the womb. Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Much is made from the side that we are all born sinners, yet God is able to sanctify the yet to be born, so who am I to say if some, none, or all have or have not been sanctified by God?

Let me go on.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.

As one can see "to believe or not to believe" requires the ability to make a decision to make a choice to accept Christ or not. We can all agree that the unborn, and children to a certain age, (Which I do not know that age.) do not have that ability, with decision making. Nor have they yet been given the ability to act upon knowledge, in order to be a law unto themselves. Romans 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

"do by nature" as you can see requires action to fall into this category as well.

How about our Lord? Certain things we do know, about children and our Lord's interaction with them. We do know that Jesus Christ, identified with children as seen below in Matthew.

  • Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

  • Mark 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of [these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Yet He also made mention as seen above in Mark; "little ones that believe in me", which goes along with what I believe when it comes to the unborn, and those who die before they have the ability to make choices.

I keep in mind that God would want none to perish: 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

So do we really believe that God would allow the unborn or those without the ability to make a decision to perish? Remember God is merciful. If God showed mercy only to such as are worthy, then He would show none at all, for the best are unworthy.

So saying, I believe that Heaven is full of children! Sad for those who have lost them here, and all the more reason to want to be there with them! Choose Jesus! BELIEVE!!!!!!

I leave you my brothers & sisters in Christ Jesus with this verse with emphasis added:

[4] According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (Eph 1:4 KJV)

Lamentation 3:31-33 For the Lord will not cast off for ever: But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Not to make light of the subject, for it touches many deeply, but is it any wonder that our Lord wanted the children to come to Him?
I do love babies, until they need to get changed, then back to the momma.
I can't believe there will be diaper changing happening in Heaven!

All Babies go to Heaven [New jerusalem]
Rom_9:11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

we must be born -again to go to Heaven ! Salvation is a New Spirit !

Joh_3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh_3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
1Pe_1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

1Co_15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Rom_9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God:

Heb_12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

We just accept His gospel as truth and Him from our heart {spirit] as lord!

this is My LORDS Gospel !
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

This is part of what happens at Salvation !
Eze_11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
Eze_18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Eze_36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

The Bible is clear Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

Those who believe in him have eternal life.

Those who don't believe will be judged for their sins.
