Is God Dogmatic?

According to the dictionary, domatic means: inclined to lay down principles as incontrovertibly true.
"he gives his opinion without trying to be dogmatic"

I often get accused of being too dogmatic with my approach to Christianity. In my hast, I tend to get too assertive. The result varies. Here on TJ's I get into hot water from time to time, pushing the edge and getting on or near probation.

I am not God like many times, I want to be but I can't measure up most of the time. I can identify with St. Paul in Romans 7:15-25 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[c] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!
For me, God is very dogmatic when it comes to his word, forgivenes and salvation. So, in that sense, I find that he and I are a lot alike but, with all the different synonyms associated with dogmatism, this is where the divide is. God does everything perfectly and in perfect love, where as, I fail on a lot of levels. For this, I apologize to anyone, of which, I may have treated harshly.I need to work on the synonyms that I inerrantly include, like: rude, insensitive and over bearing! I will promise to work on these negatives and you promise to point them out!

Hehehe Bro. I love your testimony. I often hear our Pastor here every time she stands on the pulpit she keep saying "God is not finish with me yet" :) Listening closely as she speaks, my mind is working on what situation, circumstance or day-to-day encounters she must be at the present as she always tell those words whether it be family, work, ministry (she's a part time pastor), colleagues, friends and yes even relatives. And why not, our day-to-day activities and encounters in life brings out what is in us as a person. I read a line in the Devotional I am reading one time which says "your negative encounters/circumstances are just God's way to bring out the best out of you" Wow! Very nice :) It just depends on how we react/act on them.

And so as I listen to my Pastor, I do also reflect. And so every time my circumstance will bring out something negative in my personality I would always remember my Pastor's words "God is not finish with me yet".. hehehe. And then I'll pray in my mind "Lord God we will work this out together for if it be on my own strength I cannot change my own self. Thank you for being patient with me and help me that I may also be patient with my own-self". And yeah, if God is so patient with us, why can't we to our own selves?

Thanks bro for sharing your testimony. I'm blessed.

Bless you.
