As in all things, we are to prove everything by the scripture with the Lord Jesus Christ's help.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
25 Brethren, pray for us.

Believers that err, do need our prayers.

Proverbs 25:26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.
27 It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.
28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

1 Corinthians 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

2 Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

I assume you are talking about some Pentecostal that fall to the ground. I am a Pentecostal, but we don't practice this in my church. Most I have been in, do not.
But going back to the title of this thread, the way it is worded... Are we slain in the Spirit? Yes, I hope so.

Gal 2:20; "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Luke 9:23; And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

Matt 10:38; "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

Rom 6:3; Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?

Now obviously if you're reading those verses, you aren't physically dead. But your "old self" (old man-ego) should be dead. Your old spirit should be dead, and you should be "Born -again".

1Cor 15:36; You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies;

2Tim 2:11; It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;

John 3:6; "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Good. The "holy laughter" has been going across the denomination as happening in Catholic and Protestant churches in 1997 and not just happening in Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches but of course that is not meaning it happens in every church in that denomination. So I can understand why slain in the spirit does not happen in every Pentecostal churches.
Most I have been in, do not.
I understand. Count your blessings though and give thanks to the Father in Jesus's name for that.

I do point out that I have seen saved believers going forward to receive another baptism with the Holy Ghost by that sign of tongues and some did fall backwards then too in having catchers for them.
But going back to the title of this thread, the way it is worded... Are we slain in the Spirit? Yes, I hope so.

Need I point out that those that promote "slain in the Spirit" are referring to the Holy Spirit rather than your spirit being slain?

The verse refers to our crucifying our flesh, not our spirit so as to not to live after the will of the flesh but after the Spirit.
Luke 9:23; And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
Basically Jesus is saying do not look to yourself in doing the best you can in following Me because you can't do it, but I can help you to follow Me so trust me to be your Good Shepherd to help you to follow Me.

If you were in a cave with no light and you get lost trying to find your way out, and somebody comes along with a light and claims to know the way out and says "Follow me" that person is basically asking you to trust him to lead you and make sure you are following him out.
Matt 10:38; "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
A lot of saved believers do learn more of Him and His words to us that they lose sight of Him while living their lives on earth, seeking pleasures and treasures on earth

Right.
1Cor 15:36; You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies;
In context, I fail to see why you mentioned it. Perhaps if you expound on it in how it relates to what you are sharing? By itself I could barely grasp it but in context, I do not see what you are applying that to mean for your point for why I went to context.

1 Corinthians 15:35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

2Tim 2:11; It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;

John 3:6; "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
I believe that when we believe in Jesus Christ, we became a new creature akin to new wine bottle able to hold the new wine,

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

This is what God has done in crucifying us in making a new creature, hence now a citizen of Heaven, since when we had first believed in Jesus Christ as we are always Spirit-filled as a testimony of God that He is in us and with us always as always His and thus always saved.

It should be noted that saved believers can err and live after the flesh but that does not mean they are not saved, but that they are called to repent from iniquity by going before that throne of grace for forgiveness and help to depart from sin.

Romans 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

They will find that this is a daily thing to do when running that race as His disciple by trusting Jesus Chtist to help them to lay aside every weight & sin daily in moving on to perfection by the same grace of God we have been saved by..

Hebrews 12:1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
