i know Gods love is infinitley deeper than we can understand - but just posing the question

what if a person makes a deliberate decision to to turn away?

if the prodigal son had not come to his senses?

God said he would never leave us, but we can certainly leave him. If we continue on with unrepentant willful sin, than it will be hard to feel his presence.

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. - Isaiah 59:2

Gods word says NO....even though the children of egypt turned thier backs on God and His provision ..when they reached the promised land HE SAID I KNOW THIS PLACE IVE BROUGHT YOU TO...Even if we leave HIm He never leaves us..!

Hello all.

There are some relevant verses in Galatians regarding falling away.

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire
of the flesh.

17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against
the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may
not do the things that you please.

18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity,
sensuality,

20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes,
dissensions, factions,

21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you,
just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not
inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

So it appears that a person can in fact fall away from Christ by living in the flesh and not in the Spirit.

Further, a Jew in Christ could return to the Mosaic law and exclude themselves from salvation.

The question was "is there anything that can separate us from GOD once we are born again christians?"

Remember that we are not dialoguing about eternal security. THE QUESTION IS WHAT CAN SEPARATE FROM GOD. Can we backslide? Can we do sinful things? No matter 1 John 1:9 says we confess our sins He forgives us. That never separates from Gods love.

Father God is faithful, but can not force Himself on us.

You know what, God is a faithful God, Father and Friend.

But if you deliberately make a decision to turn your back on Him, especially today, where He gave His only begotten Son and He gave everything and did everything for us, there is no hope for you. Then I would say your fate is according to your own doing.

2 Pet 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2 Pet 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
2 Pet 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

2 Tim 2:12....if we deny him, he also will deny us.
Matt 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Father God only wants us to love Him and He only wants to love us back, He already did everything for us. He already took all obsticals out of the way, so that nothing can come between us and Him, thanks to Jesus Christ and the finished work of the cross.
The world and religion says slave, God says son. The world says work, God says done. The only work left for us to do is with Father God in ourselves, we are the building / God's temple.

1 Cor 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful? Of course not! Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him,

“You will be proved right in what you say, and you will win your case in court.”
Romans 3:3-4 (NLT)

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)

Keep in mind, God loves sinners also.
The love of God, is not the salvation of God.

Eze 33:18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
Eze 33:19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
Eze 33:20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

one of my most cherished scriptures God used to bring me back once upon a time:
Ecc_9:4 For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: [RED]for a living dog is better than a dead lion[/RED].

the enemy wants you to believe its over. that there is no hope. that God no longer remembers you. if that was true then why did Jesus Christ leave his throne to be born in probably a cave and be persecuted and hated by man and most importantly, why was he scouraged and crucified? bottom line god leaving and forsaking us isnt the same as us sinning and walking away. it is us who break off fellowship with him. the bible says god will not aquit the wicked. but just because we sin his spirit dont go anywhere. i know this because when i had turned, sometimes i still would pray in tounges just to see if i still could. i could still feel his spirit inside me. he went no where. he just hides because he is the living waters. sooner or later you're gonna get thirsty and need some refreshment. aint no other way. he is the way.
Christ was crucified and much more to pay the debt to God of our sin. to quench his wrath for sin. and before he gave up the ghost he said it is finished.

If I was messing up I would want someone to remind God of these verses as they pray me for and consider my position.

Romans 11:32 For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform
it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Matthew 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

My personal view is this: there is only one thing that can separate us from God and that is our own self. If we find ourselves racked with condemnation we fell dirty and thus do not draw near. If we do not understand the power of His forgiveness then we fell guilt and do not draw near. There is no problem on His end, no lack of salvation, and no external power can separate us:
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Condemnation is not for the Christian and can be detrimental, conviction on the other hand is to be embraced as a sure sign that the Holy Spirit is working in our life and should be embraced as such.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God, but the things of the world can and will separate us from Him if we don't grow spiritually.
