"But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31, NKJV

I'm reminded of this verse in another thread on here. I'm also reminded by the story someone told me recently about why eagles are mentioned in this passage of scripture. Eagles are a very unique bird. Very strong, brave, majestic creatures of the air. Eagles each year fly to a place where they can be alone, usually on a high cliff. They pluck all of their feather off of their bodies,a forced molting, and sit and wait until the new feathers come in. It's a time of resting, gaining back what they have given in the year, renewing their strength. As Christians, we also sometimes go into a "forced molting", sometimes not our own choice, sometimes it's God's way of saying "slow down". But, just like the eagles, God will see us through it all, and give us our wings back. With our strength and wings back, we'll be able to run, and not grow weary, walk, and not faint. Thank You Father for that strength!!!!
