Jesus and the Holy Spirit at the same time?

The term "Holy Spirit" doesn't appear in the Old Testament anywhere. It does mention of Spirit of God several places, which may be the same thing.

Another difference in the Old Testament, was that the Spirit of God came "upon" people from time to time, but never dwelled within them. The Spirit of God was known to leave people in the Old Testament.

Jdg 16:20; She said, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson!" And he awoke from his sleep and said, "I will go out as at other times and shake myself free." But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him.

In the Old Testament, it seems the Spirit of God only came upon prophets and leaders of Israel. Not upon the people as a whole. There are some doctrines built around this, such as people couldn't be made clean enough
by the blood of goats and bulls, so the Holy Spirit couldn't dwell in us until Jesus shed His blood. I need to study that more before I ready to say that's the case. But in any case, the Holy Spirit didn't dwell inside anyone
until Acts 2. There is one notable exception to that.

Luke 1:15; "For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will drink no wine or liquor, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother's womb.
Luke 1:41; When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

The baby in question here isn't Jesus, it's John the Baptist, who was Jesus's cousin. But for everyone else....

John 16:7; "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

I have often wondered about this verse. Why couldn't the Holy Spirit come why Jesus was on the Earth? Why did Jesus have to leave?
The answer may be here?

John 7:38; "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'"
John 7:39; But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

The Holy Spirit wasn't given to the masses yet because Jesus wasn't glorified yet. So maybe there is something to the point about His blood hadn't been shed yet.
After Jesus was resurrected, He said...

Acts 1:5; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
Of course this happened in Acts 2.

There has been a lot of discussion about this passage.

2Thes 2:6; And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.
2Thes 2:7; For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

Some people believe that "he who restrains" the beast, is the Holy Spirit. Other's argue that if the Holy Spirit leaves, then how can people be saved during the tribulation?
Unless someone is born of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Some people use Hebrews 13:5; to support this, but I'm not convinced that verse is about the Holy Spirit.

We know that one day Jesus is coming back. He will reign on the Earth for 1,000 years before He moves His office to the New Jerusalem. Which brings up the question....

Will the Holy Spirit be on the Earth when Jesus comes back? Will He be here at the same time Jesus is here during the Millennial reign? Will the Holy Spirit be in the New Jerusalem
when Jesus dwells there? I don't know that the answer can be proven one way or the other scripturally. My personal opinion ( yes, just opinion ) is that now that Jesus's blood was shed
and Jesus has been glorified, that opens up the way for the Holy Spirit to be in any believer at anytime.

1Cor 3:16; Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1Cor 3:17; If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.
1Cor 6:19; Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

To throw another wrench in the gears here....

Rom 8:9; However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
1Pet 1:11; seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.

Sometimes you see the phrase "Spirit of Christ". Some denominations believe this is a different Spirit than the Holy Spirit. Some say the Spirit of Jesus "AND" the Holy Spirit both dwell in you.
I personally believe the Spirit of Christ is the Holy Spirit, but that's another thought.

Paul said in Eph. 1:12-14,

"That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."

When we accept Christ as our Savior we are given the indwelling Holy Spirit as a down-payment on our salvation, our salvation is not yet complete.

We are as saved as we will ever be, if we hold on to the faith that saved us.

Then Paul implies "until the resurrection." At the resurrection which for the Church is the rapture/resurrection, our salvation is made complete.

This is where we are "glorified." Just as Christ was glorified at His resurrection, walking through walls, disappearing and reappearing, etc.

This is a body no longer energized by blood but energized by the Holy Spirit and forever.

Paul also reflects on the saved before Christ came and finished His work on the Cross and His resurrection, they could not enter into heaven but were kept below in place that separated it from the flames of hell, the great gulf between in Luke 16.

They could not enter heaven or receive the indwelling Holy Spirit, as we do today, because the "the blood of bulls and goats could not take away sin."

The sin was covered and forgiven but not taken away until the Suffering Lamb came and took it away.

Only He, through a perfect and sinless life could bear the sins of the world by being a perfect sacrifice in our place.

Our soul and spirit can enter into heaven today and we can receive the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit, only because Christ has made it possible by taking away the sin of man through faith.

The "Spirit of Christ" is explained by the scholars as being the basis for which the Holy Spirit works. It is the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit works solely on the finished work of Christ in the life of the believer. That is the foundation of all the Holy Spirit does.

Jesus said.....

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

The world can not receive the Spirit of God in his fullness, but they can receive the new birth which comes by the Holy Spirit. Born-again people can receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit because they are no longer of this world.

Jesus explains why the world can not receive the fullness of the Spirit.

Mar 2:22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

New wine refers to the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and new bottles refer (to new wineskins) to the new birth. A born-again person who is no longer of this world is one who can receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit because they have been born of the Spirit and all things have become new.

Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Everything the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is dwell in their fullness in Jesus Christ, and we are "complete" in Him and he is in us.

The question has been asked many times, "how can the sins of the whole world be satisfied, but yet, some are saved and heaven bound, and some are lost and hell bound?"

John plainly told us the sins of the whole world have been satisfied by Christ. 1 John 2:2.

The answer is that even though the sins of the world have been satisfied, one must repent of those sins.

Man cannot benefit from Christ satisfying the sin debt of the whole world if there is no repentance by that person believing in what Christ has done.

God demands repentance of sin and believing in the finished work of Christ

Mark 1:14-15
"Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."

Here's something to consider. Jesus said He must go for the Holy Spirit to come. How is that when Jesus had the Holy Spirit? John the Baptist also had the Holy Spirit. So, the Holy Spirit was on earth with Jesus and John at the time Jesus said that. Does that suggest that maybe Jesus meant something else when He said He had to go so that the Holy Spirit could come?

Also, consider this. What if Holy is just an aspect of the Spirit of God? It's also called the Spirit of wisdom among others.

Isaiah 11:1–2 (KJV 1900): And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and might, The spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
