There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother - Proverbs 18:24

Loneliness will set in. Friends and family will disappoint. All this and more comes with being a human being. But you are never truly alone, for Jesus, the best Friend you could ever have, is sticking close.

God Bless,

and the Lord said, Never will I leave you, Never will I forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; (Psalms 24:4)

thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (Joshua 1:5)

Thanks and God Bless you hadirfuss for your excellent post. Here is some more concerning Jesus As Friend:

"Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" - Amos 3:3

The loyalty and faithfulness that Jesus requires of you is more than equaled by the loyalty and faithfulness He offers. His friendship makes the walk of life one of joy and companionship. It begins now and walks with you into eternity.

John 3:16-17

16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Now that is a friend you can rely on

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, "Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!" - Luke 7:34

Have you been hurt in a friendship? Have too many fair-weather friends left you when your skies turned gray?

Jesus extends His nail-pierced hands of friendship. He wants to be there with you--dark skies and all.

So let Him by your closest Friend. Listen to His laughter and rejoice.

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? - Amos 3:3

So how are we to respond to this outstretched hand of friendship from Jesus? James, Jesus' brother, wrote that we must make that friendship our primary focus: "Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously'"? - James 4:4, 5.

The loyalty and faithfulness that Jesus requires of you is more than equaled by the loyalty and faithfulness He offers. His frienship makes the walk of life one of joy and companionship. It begins now and walks with you into eternity.

Jesus As Healer

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. - Psalm 103: 2,3

Jesus came to a broken world; He lived and died among us broken people. He has both power and love enough to heal whoever needs His touch. The question is not if He will heal but how and when. This can be hard to remember when the cancer slips out of remission, the depression returns, and the temptation revisits with new force. After all, complete healing comes with eternity.

As such times and all times, what does God ask of you? Entrust all of yourself to the One who is all in all. Join with David the thankful psalmist and say, "Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me.

God Bless,

DanV
