Jesus came to give you life more abundantly; do you have it?

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

What does the more abundant life look like to you? And are you living this more abundant life?

Does the abundant like look like overcoming addictions? If is this the reality you are living? Not is it what you believe, but is this real for you?

Does the overcoming life look like having patience in the most stressful situations? Is this your reality?

Does the overcoming life look like being able to meet your financial needs, or is that simply prosperity gospel?

Of course we know that no scripture is of private interpretation but the Holy Spirit is communicating a specific truth,
yet we have to interpret scripture or understand it. So how do YOU understand the abundant life,
AND are you living it?
 
Is it possible to live the abundant life every day?

I'm not speaking of being perfect but this concept of living life more abundantly, filled with the Holy Spirit. Day in and Day out.
Not speaking of a feeling, or necessarily speaking in tongues everyday or casting out demons every day, or being joyful every day,
but are you living more abundantly daily?
 
What about being able to know God now?

"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." - John 17:3

Would you say that this "knowing God" spoken of in John 17:3 is possible in this life and if so, might that relate
to living life abundantly when we life this life knowing God, in alignment and abiding in Christ through the Holy Spirit.

Does that make life more abundant?

Just compare to when Jesus said this. Yes, we have it (most).

Only thing you have to do is "DESIRE" to live Godly, That DEVIL and demons and is going to get you, and That "VIPER" is going to come out of The Flames And BITE you!! And you got to shake it off and keep moving! And believe me it will not kill you but it sure will hurt!
If you are Not suffering from all of the evil forces, you are not A threat to The enemies of The Saints you are one of the "Allies" that come against us.

Sometimes it is hard for me to believe that many christians has never been threaten for their Testimony about "JESUS CHRIST'. That devil he will attack you in hot minute. all of the Apostles and Jesus have been attacked. Many in The REFORMATION those in The GREAT AWAKENING" But if you are not a Threat in giving A saving message no harm WILL COME TO you, you will not be threaten, BUT IF YOU ARE A POWERFUL WITNESS and A threat to the devils kingdom, you got a battle! They might pull a Gun or come back with one! But somehow GOD works it out, even have the killer come back and apologize with tears in their eyes and confess. or that devil will have another one, out of the blue and attack you and you hear the voice, I going to get you! You better not say anything about Jesus to night! We used to laugh. In His time period every day was a struggle for bread. Women and children were property to be disregarded and treated poorly. There were no options for employment and to be not able to pay your debt could mean enslavement, imprisonment, and death. Their was little id any medical help and those who could recieve it usually were only the wealthy. The oppressed continued to remain oppressed and there was no one to help set them free. And on and on.

So now today most people have a much more abundant life. All of these problems are much less for most people and a great deal of the change that occurred is because Jesus lived and His life became an example. For example He took a few fish and loaves and fed 1000s and now with our free will offerings and some tithes we feed millions (every day). I had a female friend who use to moan about where is her abundant life since she can to Christ? Yet she had closets full of clothes, a steady check coming in, a nice apartment fully furnished, 3 healthy smart children (and one grand so far). So you see what I mean? She most likely would not have even been able to survive in His time.

My understanding although differs.

How does your perspective reconcile what you said (which seems to amount to physical needs being met or lack of suffering for lack) as the more abundant life,
with what Jesus said about taking up our cross and denying ourselves to follow Him?

Would denying self include at times denying those physical needs and comforts if needed for the cause of Christ?

So we deny ourselves so that God can supply our needs, is that your understanding?

So need physical need in your mind will not be met if we are walking in God's will.

We will never go hungry? We will lack heat in the cold winter? etc etc?

Is that your understanding?

Not at all. I just believe that the world's increase in improvement of life is because Jesus fulfilled His purpose. Some who God produced in time (even Gatuama Buddha) led people to be more considerate, caring, life supportive, etc. Jesus was the epitome of this purpose.

I do however believe that when we put first the Kingdom of God and HIS Righteousness our basic needs are met. Not always our wants but our needs.

I do not believe to deny our self is to intentionally go without but that it is to make HIM Lord and cease being motivated to be lord of our own life (or like a god to oursleves - Genesis 3:5). Those who do not deny self (and do not have Yah'hoveh as King) usually try to rule over others or seek to make others conform to their way (or view or philosophy or even religious theology).

We are commanded to Agapeo our neighbor and even our enemy. When we put our own whims and selfish desires on the back burner and emulate Christ, we improve the whole world. So many have done this in time, and the world has become so much better (and not for all and at this time it appears to be slipping back) for most. Back then it was important to keep the masses ignorant so a few could rule (and the ignorant crowds followed devotedly) now most people are learned or at least can learn. However humans (even many who think they are God's children) still are basically self-ish, self seeking, self glorifying, self gratiating, and it is or should be this tendency we fight against within our selves. Because of the cross, because of what Christ did, we become other oriented and when we do He blesses us abundently.

Christ death had nothing to do with this world but to destroy it and everything in it, even the dirt! Jesus Did not come to make this world better, Do people read! the Bible "I CAME NOT to BRING PEACE" :sob: get me up out of here. Don't you know GOD is Tearing this place up. no crops no water, no fish, the animal are dying by the millions. they will not even be any bugs to eat. In the last 4 years I have saw 3 butterflies. almost all the cows in the USA, have starved to death, or died from no rain or water to drink> where you been! Sleep?

The average person in the USA makes less that $15,000 a year with no benefits or retirement. and eating Corn flakes 3 times a day with no milk! Do you know how many children are starving in one day, let alone men and women. and the rich getting richer richer every minute. The more starve the richer they get! So in other words the rich iS saying "KILL THEM ALL" now the are saying it has back fired, no body having babies and nobody is willing to work for slave wages and the immigrants they ran them back home!

Now The ROMANs do not have Toilet Stool Slaves to wipe them. You do remember those, Christians did a lot that for the Romans,, the rich and the famous.

I think you miss understood the response. Of course Jesus came to bring a sword so it could be made clear who are the sheep and nwho the goats but nonetheless because of Jesus many hungry have been fed, many children have been healed, sloavery was ended in the west, adultery pederasty and more were frowned upon, art and literature abound. More people are educated and more people carfe about others (some who they do not know). The word is pyblished and distributed and more
