Jesus shines as the sun in its strength

Some times I go out in the middle of the quarry pit where I work on a Saturday morning to listen to southern gospel music. One day the air was a little cool but I noticed how great the warmth of the sunshine felt. I thought to my self, I wonder if this is how the glow of Jesus will feel?

Isaiah 60:19-20
19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

As awesome as that was, these things are but shadows of the good things to come. I cannot wait to see Him face to face, to lay any crowns at His feet, and talk along walk with my Lord.

Thank you for sharing those thoughts Eric
So lovely to ponder the day we will see Jesus, feel the sunshine of His love glowing around us

Oh, how sweet the prospect of the time when we shall not behold Him at a distance, but see Him face to face:
When He shall not be as a wayfaring man tarrying but for a night, but shall eternally enfold us in the bosom of His glory.
We shall not see Him for a little season, but
Millions of years our wondering eyes,
Shall o'er our Saviour's beauties rove;
And myriad ages we'll adore,
The wonders of His love."
In heaven there shall be no interruptions from care or sin;
No weeping shall dim our eyes;
No earthly business shall distract our happy thoughts;
We shall have nothing to hinder us from gazing for ever on the Sun of Righteousness with unwearied eyes.
Oh, if it be so sweet to see Him now and then, how sweet to gaze on that blessed face for aye, and never have a cloud rolling between, and never have to turn one's eyes away to look on a world of weariness and woe!
Blest day, when wilt thou dawn?
Rise, O unsetting sun!
The joys of sense may leave us as soon as they will, for this shall make glorious amends.
If to die is but to enter into uninterrupted communion with Jesus, then death is indeed gain, and the black drop is swallowed up in a sea of victory.

I have often wondered, do we all cast our crowns at his feet? Or is it just the 24 elders? I know this is the name of a popular Christian group (I have a few of their CDs).

B-A-C,

I never considered the idea that only the 24 elders might cast their crowns before Jesus.

8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne,
saying,

11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

I believe all of heaven will bow down and worship when the four beast cry Holy, Holy, Holy!

The following is happening now.
Psalm 149:4-6a
4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

We were singing Amazing Grace at church this morning

What a glorious thought to think we will shine with His glory as we praise Him eternally

Sing ye unto His name, for He hath triumphed gloriously!
Begin the everlasting song, for He is the Lord and God, and to the uttermost ages shall He reign; yea, for ever and ever is He priest and King.
(Spurgeon "The Sun of Righteousness" ...final line of sermon)

This is why we will shine and how bright we will shine.
Daniel 12:1-3
1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

It is a sobering thought really

How much are we doing for Jesus today in the light of eternity

May we seek to serve Him and bring glory to His wonderful name, every moment of every day

I am thinking today of that beautiful land
I shall reach when the sun goeth down;
When through wonderful grace by my Saviour I stand,
Will there be any stars in my crown?

In the strength of the Lord let me labour and pray,
Let me watch as a winner of souls,
That bright stars may be mine in the glorious day,
When His praise like the sea billow rolls.

O what joy it will be when His face I behold,
Living gems at his feet to lay down!
It would sweeten my bliss in the city of gold,
Should there be any stars in my crown.*

God..... hath shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God

This is what Jesus looks like now! Think of him like this when you pray.
Revelation 1:10
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

I get lost in awe, wonder, amazement when I even try too think of seeing Jesus in all His glory.
Contemplating this I am at loss for words

We shall see Him as He is

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is
