Judgment in the Bible - Who gets judged, and who does the judging? How many judgments are there?
Matt 12:41; "The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
Matt 12:42; "The Queen of the South will rise up with this generation at the judgment and will condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.
Luke 11:31; "The Queen of the South will rise up with the men of this generation at the judgment and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.
Luke 11:32; "The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
A phrase you see a lot in the Bible is .. "the" judgment. Is this all one big event, or is it multiple events?
But it seems in the passage above, that the men of Nineveh who repented at Jonah's message, will at least judge the Jewish generation of Jesus's time.
Also it seems that the Queen of the South ( usually considered to be Sheba - 1Kings 10; ) will also judge that generation.
But is this simply one group of persons judging another group of persons?
1Cor 6:2; Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?
1Cor 6:3; Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?
Paul says the saints will judge the world. He also says we will judge angels. I assume this is the fallen angels.
Jude 1:6; And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day,
... more questions coming, ... to be continued ...
