I know there's absolutely nothing wrong in killing animals for food. But the very act of killing life beings, is it not a very cold act?

Please note that I'm an omnivore, and not pro vegetarianism or veganism. Thanks for all the replies people.

Killing human life / GOD's creation is purely evil.

Matthew 5:20-22

20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

oops sorry

I wasn't able to elaborate my question clearly. I meant the killing of other life-beings, like animals, for our own benefits like food consumption, clothing, etc. Is it a very cold act since we are Christians?

It was not GODs original intention, in a perfect world.

It was not GODs original intention, in a perfect world.

Since the rebellion things have changed.

This rebellion will be put down, and soon.

I have no idea why I mentioned killing humans now that I re-read your title. Sorry.

However, Jesus ate fish with the disciples.

John 21:12-14

12Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord. 13Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. 14This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Hi ragingregi. Welcome to Talk Jesus. It's good to have you here.

It is my understanding, from the Bible, that God intended man to consume animals.

Genesis 9:2-4
2 - And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
3 - Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
4 - But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
- (your likeness, mankind - no cannibalism)

I agree and can sympathize with your love and respect of animals. They are, afterall, also God's creation. I believe that is why you should thank God each and every time you partake. They have a noble purpose on this earth, which is to sustain God's favored creation, mankind.

I'm new at this, so if I am mistaken, please feel free to correct my understanding using biblical verse. I'm unable to quote specific Biblical verse here, but I think there is also restrictions on some animals, i.e. split hooves, etc.

Hope this helps.

Amen!

Thanks so much for your explanation Amen!

I know it's kind of sad we have to kill other life beings and they shall suffer for our own good and benefit... they have lives too and they can feel pain... but if God intended it that way, then it's for us to accept nonetheless... the least thing we can do I guess is to not to mistreat them or torture them by the manner of butchering.. I think there's a proper way of slaughtering them.
