May I ask jow to avoid too much daydreams in God's way?

Any opinion or bible verses are helpful.thanks..

p.s. help me also on my gossip addiction( my vice) by God's word. Thanks.

I am not sure about how to help with daydreams, but I had, (and still have),
a terrible habit of gossiping and talking about others in a bad way.
What i have found that works, is when someone starts to gossip,
instead of joining in, tell them, 'I hope you don't get offended but I am trying to break myself gossiping.' Or when they gossip, stop them and ask if they
actually know the person that well, or say a nice thing instead. Soon
anyone around you who wants to gossip will soon realize you really aren't
interested.

1 Thessalonians 4:11

Hi WantToKnowHim,

I found a verse in Philippians that might help you in the day dreaming department depending on what your day dreams are about...but this one helps me when I find my thoughts wondering from the things that our Lord would have me thinking about.

Philippians4:8-9 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--mediate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do and the God of peace will be with you.

the gossiping is abit harder but I have found a few verses that may help you in this territory too. I know I too have a hard time with this one from time to time as we all who are human do.

Psalm19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

When you find yourself in a situation where you are tempted to gossip if you want recite this bible verse silently to yourself as often as you need and in my case I also try to think of things that are good about the person or situation i'm tempted to talk about and more times that not I don't feel like gossping anymore but instead saying something nice about the person which you will find throws everyone for a loop...LOL! but, you might after all is said and done make a good impression on someone and they may decide to make a change in their lives in the decisions they make to talk about someone.

Oh, another thing that works is this...Asking God to put His hand over your mouth if something is not meant to be spoken from you..I've done this alot myself and God will help you control what you say and to whom you say it.

God bless and I will be praying for you.

Want To Know Him,

It appears that you are worried about how you are performing as a believer. Its not about you performing; its about allowing God's Holy Spirit to work in you and change you from the inside out (Php 2:12-13).

I used to gossip at times, but the tables turned when people were gossipping about me. It hurts to be gossipped about. Now, if someone gossips with me, I either stop talking (usually there being more than just me and someone else) or I say something positive about the person, or just trying to make things more understandable.. like if the gossip is about someone being mean, say "maybe they were just having a bad day". Also, remember that anything you say about someone (or about anything) can be quoted back to you. You never know who will find out what you said. Hope you're able to stop the habit (:

Hello all.

I was surprised to find that some men gossip, probably not to the extent that women do. Some men are very spiteful in what they say about others. This always occurred when the subject of the conversation was absent, dreadful is it not.

I am with SpirtLed on this topic, human nature being what it is. You will need the help of Jesus Christ in a big way.

I enjoyed interferring in gossip at work, by pointing out the short falls of those that were attempting to gossip. It was not difficult to stop them. A little humour goes a long way!

Thank you, Abbysaunt.:)..Thank you for that verses and I really need a prayer right now.:)

WantToKnowHim,

Peace be unto you,

II Corinthians 12:20

Pray and read the Bible often. The more time that you spend with Him, the stronger you will get. When you learn to keep Him and His words in your mind at all times, there is little room for anything else— even daydreams. Try to focus only on overcoming one thing at a time. When you realize that you are gossiping, speak to God immediately, and ask Him to help you with it—even if it happens many times in a day. One thing at a time. He is a merciful and loving God. Become very dependent on Him, He doesn't mind.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance; I'll do what I can to help you.

I have to say a big and joyful Amen to this! This is such good advice and will bode well for all of us to try and remember on a daily basis!

A lot of gossip seems to stem from people wanting to be bearers of news or information...."have you heard" or "did you know" .

We have far better news to share.

You're welcome, WantToKnowHim

Keep me posted on how you're doing with it.

I will begin praying for your deliverance from those vices.

Pray and read often. And keep Him and His word in your thoughts continually.
