Does anyone have any personal experience with what to read in the Bible when you're trying to listen to Jesus a little bit more?

Eventually as you make a habit reading and praying daily you should develop a way that the whole of the Bible gets read periodically. Ask God for help in that. I have a definite schedule of reading which includes the whole Bible, but doubles up on the gospels, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon. By double up I mean I read each of theme twice as much as the rest of scripture. But even if you set up such a pattern don't be bound by it absolutely. Sometimes God may nudge to read someplace that is not according to schedule. Your Leader should always be the Holy Spirit. But... even letting the Holy Spirit always lead doesn't always happen just like that.Does anyone have any personal experience with what to read in the Bible when you're trying to listen to Jesus a little bit more?
