Let's talk about Jesus Christ. I mean, just about everybody is talking about the recent book and movie, "The Davinci Code." So perhaps it would be a good idea for us to take a good look at Jesus Christ. In the Bible, the book of John does just that. John records the seven great miracles of Jesus and the seven great claims of Jesus. 7 miracles that prove He is God! And 7 "I AM" statements that leave no room for discussion. Jesus claimed to be both the One and Only Son of God AND God Himself! Amazing but true. Just as amazing is His claim that He will live in us. Imagine the Holy God dwelling in hearts of men and women. In chapter 6 of John we catch up with Jesus just after he fed thousands of hungry people with a small boy's sack lunch consisting of 5 small loaves of bread and 2 tiny fish. A few verses later He claims, "I am the bread of life, He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." Not bad for the guy who just fed the multitudes with one sack lunch! But some guys in the crowd have a hard time swallowing this statement. To make matters worse, He then goes on to say that He is the bread of heaven, offering eternal life to all who partake. And so it goes, just as the 5 loaves of bread were broken and blessed and fed thousands, so Jesus' body was beaten and broken so that millions, maybe billions, might have eternal life. Do you believe? Some did, but many didn't. But those who did, or those who do... Well, we eat the heavenly bread of life and are satisfied. One last thought. This too is quite incredible, but once you eat something, it becomes a part of you. Your body consumes and assimilates it inside of you. Yep, that's right, we now have the Spirit of Christ living in us. And just as He said, "He who feeds on this bread will live forever," so it is for those who believe. God is in us all...
