Hebrews 11:15 Says those people of faith didnt keep thinking of the country they left. If they did they would have the chance to return:
GNT

In Exodus, the night of the passover, they ate with skirt tucked in their belt ready to leave in a hurry.

Have we actually left the world behind altoghether? Are there some things that we hold onto that still tie us to this world? Have we forsaken all?

I am reminded of a nightclub entertainer, who became saved, but still remained in the business. I often wonder how far that person got in the walk of faith. Did the environment pull back to old way of life?
Have we truly forsaken all?

It all depends on what you are remembering.

Heb 10:32 Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ. Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering.
Heb 10:33 Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things.
Heb 10:34 You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever.
Heb 10:35 So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! (NLT)

It is always good to think back on how God delivered you through many hardships and how the Lord strengthened you to get through them.

I agree. We should remember our failings so we dont repeat and fall back into the same sinful life we were taken from.
That was the point of original post.
Did we leave those things behind,or do we still like to dabble a wee bit?
