I'm longing for Jesus I've have been for a long time but I didn't know until I looked deep within my self . For a long time Ive felt depressed I would just cry not realising it was god I craved for. I wake up and think of him, throughout the day, I think of him , before bed I'm thinking of him. It's like I can't get enough of Jesus he's on my mind constantly. I just want to be with him sometimes I feel really restless when I think of the sin I have and the thought of not getting home to Jesus really makes me weep I have repented but I still fail sometimes when it comes to sin I know that we get eternal life through what Jesus done for us but I feel so bad for sinning in the first place. Does anybody else feel this??
Hi Sherlena,
Love this post and yes I can so relate to it, and any truly born again brother or sister who says they can't probably don't know themselves or God as well as they thought.
OK, so what's this sin you've got that's preventing you from getting home to Jesus? (Rhetorical question, don't answer it). I'm thinking that if you put it next to Jesus' victory it'll be barely visible to the naked eye. I promise you Sherlena, there's no sin big enough to prevent you from getting home to Jesus. Please stop reading this and instead read Romans 8:1-39.
It seems like there's a battle royal going on inside your head, much like Paul describes -
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 NKJV.
What shouts loud and clear from your post is the indomitable fact that you are a truly born again believer and a disciple of the risen Lord Jesus Christ. To get to that position, God called you and you responded. Bear in mind that when He did, God had 20:20 vision, He knew you would go off piste from time to time, let Him down and grieve and hurt Him, and still He called you. Not because He thought you had potential but because He loves you. So when you do stray, don't listen to Satan's condemnation that you're a total let down, a disgrace to your faith and God has just washed His hands of you. Instead, confess your sin and ask God though His Holy Spirit to make you more pure to avoid a repetition. Then move on.
So spend more time talking to Him like He's the one true love of your life. Chat to Him constantly about your day, your feelings, what interests you, what's going on around you, hopes, desires and ambitions as well as the spiritual stuff like Bible passages you've read, church life, your brothers and sisters in Christ and plenty of praising- what you love about Him, recollections of what He's done for you, thanks for His gifts; the list is literally endless. Then think, reflect and meditate on God, and you'll find He speaks to you through His Holy Spirit.
You'll find that your love of God deepens and the experience is exhilarating. You will change, your life will change. Life with Christ is stuffed full of joy, happiness, hope and excitement and that's what's missing from your post. Jesus has set you free but you seem tied down with imaginary chains and shackles that are not there. You've chose life, embrace it and love it!
=====================
Dear Lord God, I really ask you right now, please send your comforting Holy Spirit to my gorgeous sweet sister Sherlena. Please Lord, through Him reveal yourself to her, that she may see your love and adoration of her and then I'm sure she'll reflect that back to you. I pray Lord that she'll stop trying in her own strength to impersonate Jesus and instead let your Holy Spirit transform her into a temple fit for you and your son Jesus to live in.
Lord what I have asked for above would be impossible even for you, unless you had first sent your dear son Jesus to be crucified on the cross to totally wipe out and clear our sin altogether. The cost was immense, unimaginable and yet you paid it, gladly, so that you can now draw us to you, live within us and one day welcome each one of us to live with you forever in Heaven.
We thank you Lord God with a gratitude that will never repay that cost. I love you Lord God, you are truly amazing.
Amen.
