I was reading Romans 8:28; this morning and a few things struck me. This was my favorite Bible verse for many years.
All things work together for THE GOOD of those WHO LOVE GOD and are called according to his purpose.
It seems some people think "the good" means good things will always happen to us. But it's been my experience that it isn't usually what WE think
is good for us, but rather what GOD thinks is good for us, and it isn't always pleasant.
The other thing I notice about this verse is that it says "those who love God". I wonder, is it just those who say they love God. Or is it those
who show Him they love Him? The Bible does give us a few examples of how to show God we love Him.
(John 14:15; John 14:21; John 15:10; 1 Jn 5:2-3; 2 Jn 1:6; )
Loving God isn't really a suggestion. As you posted in Deut above, it is a commandment.
( Matt 22:37-38; Mark 12:28-29; )
