Since you asked for skittle about me, here it is (I think. I'm not sure about what skittle is, exactly, but I digest.)
Born to a poor family in Illinois, my Hero Brother sent me a one-way bus ticket to Los Angeles after I graduated from high school.
A new life of unimaginable excitement awaited me in beautiful, sunny California where I met the woman of my dreams, to whom I am still married and will always love.
I earned a degree in chemical engineering and then an MBA and made bank, traveled the world, took mother, in-laws, five sisters-in-law ,older brothers and sis and their spouses to Europe and Hawaii.
May I encourage each one of you to do all you can every day to benefit your community and your country. Give and it shall be given unto you.
Pick up litter and trash wherever you see it. Pick up road hazards, such as nails and screws. Denise Huber would be alive today if some decent person had picked up one nail. If some decent man had stopped to change her tire late one night in Costa Mesa. But no decent man did.
Report street lights burning in daylight. Report shock hazards to the electric company. Report sidewalk tripping hazards (unevenness) to the city and they will grind it down the next day. Be observant and help business and cities whenever and however you can.
Think and learn and don't listen to plausible but nonsense sound bites, such as "religion and science are mutually exclusive - choose only one" or "science has a self-correcting mechanism." So does every animal and plant. It's called "trial and error."
