Masturbation! good or bad?

hi, everybody.. God Bless!

I wanted to know if bible or any other christian sources shed any light on this issue of 'Masturbation' ? And is it something good or bad for our physical and spiritual health?

I have read a few health sites, where its says it pretty ok or in some cases recomended. But I am still not satisfied about it. And what if it is done on daily basis.

Cannot doing it daily lead to infertility?

And what about the guilty feelings that leads after? Does it have negative effects on our spirituality?

Masturbation is a sin. You're committing adultery in your heart when you do it.

A sin is obvious to pen point. Would you do this in front of Jesus? Do you think this helps you grow spiritually? It is definitely a sin.

If a husband, while he is cross country and away for a long length of time, masturbates thinking of his wife, how is this sinful? i mean what sin has he committed?

Sin, by definition of Scriptures, is transgression of the law. Since you teach that masturbation is a sin, please show me what law is being broken, what sin has that person committed?

Granted if they lusted to masturbate, and that not of their spouse, then yes that is sin. The sin is not the act of masturbating, but the lusting to achieve the desired goal of masturbation.

Many are saying it is sinful, yet i see no Scriptures to back up this teaching. if then Scriptures does not teach this, where is this doctrine coming from, because it is not the doctrine of Christ.

That depends. Is it done through lusting for others not your spouse? Then yes most certainly it is sinful. Is it done through thinking of your spouse? then no it is not sinful. Is it done through no lusting at all, thinking no evil or bad thoughts at all? then no this also is not sinful.

Be warned, the Pharissees and Saducees all taught Do's and Don'ts. Let what the words of the Bible stand True, and what the words of men say, a lie.

If God (the Word) does not condemn that act of masturbation, who gives people the right too? Are people above God? my point is, if God does not condemn it, why do you? (not talking to poster, but speaking in general)

Absolutely. When we feed the lusts of the flesh, the flesh has more sway over our hearts and minds drawing us away from God and His will.

God created us to be sexual beings, and without the desire many call lust, the human race would have died out long ago. God said to mulitply and be fruitful, and a man cannot even get "into the correct condition" to mulitply without the mind involved, allowing desire to build. That being said, God wants us to be in ONLY committed monogamous relationships, married to one person and desiring (and some prudes would even call this evil) them only. If you are married and find your desire building and your wife is not going to be available for awhile, or not able to funtion sexually for some reason, I suppose fantasizing about your wife, and masturbating IN PRIVATE would be okay. But do not mention it to others, for too many ppl have a messed up idea about sex, thinking it wrong to feel any pleasure without guilt and sin in your hearts. They forget it was the Lord Himself who created us to desire one another.

what is said above is True. People should should not go and condemn things which the Word of God itself does not condemn, who made them God to teach what is sinful and what is not sinful based solely on what they believe, and not what Scriptures teach.

Is a knife good or evil ? Well that depends on how it is used, if it is used to commit murder, or to threaten another, then yes that knife used for evil. But if a person uses that knife to cut fruit, then it is not evil.

Likewise is masturbating good or evil ? Well that depends on how it is done, if one does it through lusting, (i.e. looking at porn, etc..) then yes it is used for evil. But if a person does it thinking of their spouse only, or does it without lusting at all, then it is not evil.

Be warned of any person who teaches you things which the Word of God does not teach. The Word of God does not teach masturbating is a sin, this teaching comes from the thoughts of people.

far out.Where does it say in the bible about masturbation being a sin?. We all have urges as we creative beings. Its what your thinking about when your doing it that matters. There are many ways to think of other things. Dont listen to these Pharisees, just pray and follow your own discernment.
