Matthew 6-7
And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

Growing up Catholic and never reading the Bible I just followed along what we were being taught. I can remember going to confession, and the Priest would give us penance. They would always give so many Hale Mary prayers. To just prayer over and over......well that is repetition if I ever knew what repetition was. It Never did sit right with my spirit at the time, but I lacked any discernment and was blinded at the time.

They also have the rosary beads, that people pray more to Mary then Jesus for intersession. again more repetition. No denying it, both these practices require repetition.

The Bible calls these things vain, meaning they have no future value, Jesus himself tells us not to do them.

This one verse was one of the first scriptures God used to open my eyes to the darkness of the Catholic denomination. But I would of never known if I had not searched for God with all my heart in his word. Thank you Lord God.

My prayer is for all those still in darkness come out to the light, for God to show you the light, the truth that only comes from Gods word ! I pray for people (myself included )that we realize how the word of God and prayer are the shield of protection from the deceitfulness of the world and man made religion. Trust in the word of God only not yourself.
