In this day and age, sometimes I feel that it's NOT enough to be a virtuous woman. Often, I laughing joke that God needs to update the bible because in my dating experience as a 30-something female, I realized that looks matter to men. In fact, they matter a whole lot. Looks are the basis of any kind of interaction with a single, virile man. They even invented a rating system to judge a woman's value and trust me, being a virtuous woman isn't part of the grading criteria. No wonder tons of women get plastic surgery. We're just conforming to the present day demand of the male gender. And then, society wonders why divorce in America persists. It persists when men fail to understand that true value comes from within. It persist when society repeatedly advertises that a woman's value is directly connected to her features.

This is nothing more than a rant. Feel free to object or sympathize LOL

i agree to some degree. It is true men are visual and God created them like that BUT a true godly man will love you for your heart and will admire your purity and soul more than your physical features! Besides, you are wonderfully made in God's image! You are beautiful!

That is true. I stop dating earlier this year, much to the surprise of everyone around me. I just had it. I just got tired with dating and all my hopes getting squandered. I got tired putting my best foot forward and falling flat because men want someone like Kate Upton or some famously over-photoshopped, hyped up, blown up female celebrity.

Im glad you pointed that out. Lately, I've been on this mindset to just fill my mind with wonderful thoughts composed of loving, kind, peaceful thoughts. I thought is start with godly thoughts.

You are right, sister. Forget men and focus on God.

Men as visual creatures is, in my opinion, a lame excuse. And when we women subscribe to that silly notion, we might as well agree to the notion that we have nothing deeper to offer in a relationship. Hence, the increasing incidence of plastic surgeries even in female teenagers. So yes I have heard of that cliche being thrown around but I don't buy it. Neither should you.
