Michigan man following Jesus

Hi everyone,
I'm raised in GA and moved to Michigan 2006. I grew up knowing of Jesus, but never really read the bible. I've never really committed consistently to Jesus, but this time I want to make it stick. Started reading the Bible a few days ago and ask him to come into my heart and repented. I was part of a Methodist church years ago and was sort of baptized. The pastor sprinkled water on my head, but I feel like I haven't been truly baptized yet. I've been to a few churches and I am still searching for one to call home. Great to be here and looking forward to meeting you.

Repentance first. All have sinned, fallen short of God's glory. Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life... no man comes to the Father but by Him.
We love Him because He first Loved us.

But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, leading to righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, leading to salvation. For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES UPON HIM WILL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME." Romans 10:8-11 LSB

I hope and pray you will find a church that will help you grow in His Word, and allow you to be the servant Jesus' wants you to be to others!

What happened to you is what I call the drawing of the Holy Spirit. He is drawing you to Himself because He wants to show you something and therefore you need to consistently follow His promptings to prayer and the study of the word. This is exactly what happened to me. I know you will find grace to follow through
