I would like to share what our God did for me and one of my daughters.
My secound youngest daughter who is 23 now, when she was younger my husband and I had a real hard time with her. She was very rebellious at school and at home. Her behaviour changed dramatically over the next number of years. She became moody, bad tempered and it was hard to find out what was wrong. My husband suspected that she was on heavy drugs, I found this hard to take on board and did not want to believe that she could go done this road.
My husband was right and we uncovered that she was taking crack cocaine, she addmited that she had been taking it on regular basis. We spoke about her going to a christian rehab, she agreed to go and before she went she committed her life to the Lord. This was a time that I got really close to the Lord and he would help me through the next few years.
She went into a rehab for five weeks but things got worse when she came out. She would disappear for months and weeks. All I could do is pray and lean on Gods understanding. I myself started working in a christian rehab and learnt about spiritual warfare and diliverance. So I started to do spiritual warfare, the Lord would tell me what my daughter was doing and what sort of state she was in. I was obedient to what ever God told me to do.
One night I was woken up with a desire to pray so I started to pray in tongues, I knew it was urgent so I prayed for about an hour. I knew that my daughter was in a dark place. Over the next few years the Lord gave me peace and hope for my daughter. He prepared my heart when ever she was coming home. He gave me promises through his word and speaking to me directly. In my heart I knew that he would draw her out. Three years later she came off drugs, she has been off crack cocaine for nearly four years. He restored her self esteem. He gave back her life, I found out that night that I had to pray my daughter was trying to take her life. That night she said she knew that I was praying for her. She felt Jesus presence in the room, the peace and love flowed, she knew in heart that she would be ok.
Through this time my faith grew and I have learnt about the power of prayer. Our God is good, he is gracious and loving, he is a merciful God. I have learnt that sometimes we have to wait for our prayers to be answered and we have to trust God and claim the promises that he gives. I hope that this story will encourage some of you to push through what ever curcumstances you might find yourself. The Lord is in our pain.
