Much Needed Prayers

Hi: It's me Pixie... My mom is an alcoholic.

My mother drinks too much, even a little is too much for her. The mother I grew up with was basically an abstainer. Now, since her late sixties and into her seventies, she has become a constant drinker. I think I am having a little luck by confronting her. My family really tries to pretend that this illness doesn't cause any problem, but it sure causes a problem for me. You see, I love her and she is just about my very best friend.
I think the problem is that she has no children left at home to speak to or keep her company. My dad kind of ignores her and spends all his time with the political party that he endorses.
Could you please pray for her. I want my mother back and I want her to live another twenty years. Like I said, she is one of my best friends. I didn't know that the problem was this bad until the summer of last year. I found out that she was often "passing out", from too much drink.
Prayer can and will get her better, (praise be to Lord Jesus Christ). I just want it over now.
Thanks for your prayers and your prayers for others.
Amen:Pixie:lightning:sun: :rainbow:

pixie luck is not something we say usually. If someone says 'you are lucky' my response to them is 'I am blessed' .

I feel for you as your mother used to be an abstainer and therefore her body is not used to alcohol. Does she have Jesus in her heart? If not, then there is a void that needs filling. I live alone with my cat and she is great company. Having Jesus I am never alone.

Father I pray for pixie's mum that you would reach out and touch her, show her You love her so much. I pray you take away the need she has to drink like she is doing.

Surround her with Your love and good friends. Draw her close to You. Help Pixie to say the right words and shine Jesus so that her mum will know if she does not already know that Jesus is real. Let pixie have back the mum she always had in her life.

Thank you Lord and I ask this in Jesus name amen.

God bless you pixie for your care and love. I am glad she is your best friend too as well as your mum

Thanks for this powerful and so true message sister Lady, I was thinking about this the other day, if someone is writing a test or looking for work, I tend to say best of luck, without really thinking it over. Now I know what the replacement is, either be blessed or may God bless you.

Sister Pixie, it's never too late for your mom to change, I think if you start by studying a bit about alcoholism in a Biblical context, you may be able to give Christian advice to her.

Please view the alcoholism thread in the Scriptural Answers forum, and also check out gotquestions.org for related articles.

I will pray for your mom dear sister.

God bless
Much love

Dearest Pixie. I know it must hurt alot seeing your mother like that. I will pray for your mother and also for you to get strenght from our Lord. Also for you to get wisdom to do and say exactly what your mother needs. He knows everyones heart, nothing is hidden from Him. Eph 3.20: He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us. Bless you:girl_hug:
