My youngest has autism. Do you think this is the spirit spoken of in Mark 9?

I do believe that if God willed, He could set my boy free from His autism, of course, for HE is GOD. I do in part believe that the boy mentioned in Mark 9 was as 'what is described in the medical realm' autistic to the nth degree, based on how my son hurts himself and throws a tirade of fits when he is frustrated. Disciplining seems to only have shortly lived results. I have prayed that God direct me to pray and fast for my boy to be released from this burdensome condition, for Jesus said [["So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer [a]and fasting.”]]. I have not gotten this direction yet. I am not looking for worldly solutions at this time for they cannot cure this condition, but only provide tools to manage it better. I want my boy free - of course he will be one day in eternity by the grace of God . Nobody knows that I am approaching this in this manner, for I have no one to share in this type of thinking. Please prayers from my brothers and sisters to be directed by the Holy Spirit in this manner so things can be done in their proper order...

I have 2 nephews who are. The oldest isn't on a serious level but his younger brother is high-function learning autistic. He's been reading and doing things at 2 that a 5 year old would have trouble with.
I can't explain it as best I can through text.
My own medical career has included learning about and working with all ages. Diagnosed autism isn't that common and there is a range. My nephew thrives and does well with a schedule. There is this Head Start kind of program in our county and he's in his 2nd year. He's in a class with others like him and with other issues. He's made a lot of progress in a 1 1/2.
A parent is highly biased but as an uncle who is helping every day I am as well. You have to learn to look at them from a biased and unbaised POV. I have a Youtube channel done by a Doctor and Autism mom who gives out great advice. General beliefs and practices you can try and learn what does and doesn't work.

There is no quick fix but given some basics you can start to reduce how he is. For most, there is Redirection which is moving or bringing his attention to something that he likes and you know calms him down. Note: That is NOT a cellphone or tablet. Too much of that for them can cause them to rely on it too much.
Another issue is hitting or banging themselves. She covers that in another video or few.
Main point is to stop them from hurting and experiencing the pain.
Shouting is also bad especially if they are are climbing or doing something dangerous.
I'll stop here. Pray all you want but realistically, dealing with them and their issues is going to take physical and emotional action.

Your help has arrived, you are indeed correct your boy does have the same foul spirit as the boy in Mark 9. The solution to the problem is by prayer & fasting but that is to be done by someone that has been given the ability to cure all manners of illness & disease. Matt 10 v 1

Maybe; or maybe not. And what if it is? In any case, we need to look a bit deeper into the root cause.

You don't need to wait for God to do that, for that's a sucker's game. The Holy Bible tells us many times about the spiritual benefits of fasting and prayer. So have you gone ahead and done that i.e. have you prayed and fasted?

Prayers from the assembly are good, but it's time for you to step up as the God-ordained leader of your house and effect your world, your loved ones, for Christ.

You've been honest, so I will be very forthcoming, as well. I am involved in a deliverance ministry, and I understand that autism at its root is demonic. In the same way here that you would wait for the approbation and prayers of others to make your spiritual stand, you also acted similarly when this boy was injected i.e. you did it because you trusted others who told you it was the right thing to do. I am assuming that your child was injected/vaccinated, as autism is virtually unheard of in the unvaccinated group. Did you open a door that should have remained closed? Perhaps repentance is in order for the sin of respecting man, for holding the fear of man (re: injection), rather than seeking God first on it.

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by following this direction. Read and perform the 5 steps listed in this previous post of mine: Confession, repentance, forgiveness and deliverance.

I would be honored to provide more clarity and guidance on your journey with your child. I check in here every few days, God willing.

It's been a long 6 tears however it's not my first time with young autistic children. I have a Medical background (not a Doctor) among other things.
It's not easy but it IS one of the best things when they bond with you. I'm a very firm believer in "There's a solution to almost any problem." and they are no exception.
There are general ways to love and help them every day. You will find they are heavily obsessed with routine.
It makes them feel safe. Many of them can't communicate well or at all.
They are scared when they can't tell you they hurt or where. If they have to go to potty.
Hungry. Thirsty. What they specifically want.
I could go on and on.
My last church's "pastor" (long story) said that autistic children are "demon-possessed".
I do NOT find any scripture or in Who God is to support that.

Indeed! That's the kind of ignorance that keeps Satan laughing. And this is the so-called advice, guidance and support that is forthcoming from today's evangelical pulpits. Instead of properly dealing with the demonic, they set the debris of it (e.g. hurting ppl) outside the "church." It's worse than a disgrace. (The topic of "possession" is another red herring to keep the heat off the lying hireling pastors.)

The problem remains: The flock is not being taught how to wage effective spiritual warfare - because it knocks the numbers i.e. hurts the collection plate.

Summary:
Most churches are MORE concerned with butts in seats and money than teaching God's word entirely and winning souls.

In general, people who are actually autistic, I can "sense" it on them within 5 seconds of being in the same room with them, even if they don't say anything, or move around at all. Its really strange, because its similar, but a different sensation than what I feel when I meet someone with enough childhood trauma to put them on the dissociative spectrum. These ones are harder to confirm, because people will tell you their child is autistic, but they aren't going to bring up the more difficult stuff. This year I did get confirmation on one of the people i had a strange sensation about. Turns out she is DID and her mom should be in prison.

For many of the autistic from birth folks, God is not going to change them. for two reasons, one being they don't want to, and second, it would be too hard on them to adjust to the world as a non "autistic person".

I did find one person's testimony on reddit where they were babysitting an autistic child and they started getting a very strange brain fog. after asking God what was going on they said they heard: "this is what that child is experiencing and will continue to experience until you pray for him/her" (not exactly what was spoken but my memory isn't the best.)

so i do believe God will inspire parents and strangers to pray for autistic children. as in children. i've never heard of anyone claiming God cured their autism. except me. but i found out later it wasn't autism... it was OSDD-1b related problems.

But there are people who are diagnosed as aspergers (my wife, and another guy i know of) and they are not aspergers. of course its more complicated but basically they are people trapped in a fight or flight response all the time, to the point they never developed social skills, reading body language, understanding tone of voice, etc..
These people can, and should be healed.

anyhow this thread may just change into people arguing about other people's problems and i tend to doubt OP will return.
