What do you all understand by apostle John's scripture in 1 John 2 15-17?

''Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world --the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does---comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.'':star:

I am not very good at such things but I think it means that we are not to love wordly things more than we love God. I know that God wants us to enjoy the world. He gave it to us to enjoy. But He would not want us to put our worldly pleasures ahead of Him. There is the word lust there too and to lust is to covet to the extreme, another not to do.

Lusts Of The Flesh

Hello member, well after I read 1 John 2:15-17 I can tell you Brother John was saying we need to stay away for the LUSTS OF THE FLESH see Galatians 5:19-21. See if we partake of such things we can never have a PERFECT HEART TOWARD GOD, amen.
