Welcome to TJ, Jessica. If you are truly "trying to find your way to God and Jesus", that means that you are responding to God drawing you to himself.

You have faith in the existance of God and you want to learn more. That is all that is needed to begin your journey to salvation. "Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:6).
