I'm new to this so of I do not do something correctly, please forgive me. My name is Alexis. I'm 19 years old and I'm seeking Jesus and God's approval. The problem is, im weak. I give in to my temptations kinda easy. I found this site trying to seek advice on Christian water fasting while I'm doing it in this moment. I haven't eaten for 9 hours now. Anyways, I'm feel like I'll break soon. I think this site may make a good distraction.

Hello Alexis welcome to our community. Glad you're here. Being a Christian is not easy but God is not expecting us to be perfect. Instead He's asking us to trust in the work of what Jesus has done on the cross and what the Holy Spirit does in a believers life continually each day. Sanctification is a lifelong process.

Hello Alexis! May your walk with the Lord grow easier with time. The strength is within you to overcome weakness, you just have to have a change of heart, and trust in the words of Jesus to help you through it.

Seeking Gods approval? Hmm, I don't think that's required. Just realize that you are a created being, that needs a connection to their creator.

Keep it simple like that.

Matthew 5:48

What do you need God to approve?

If you're going to do a water fast I would suggest adding powdered Spirulina, which is a sea kelp, to your water. It gives you all the healthy vitamins and minerals you'll need to support your body while fasting from food intake. And very importantly it contains natural Tyrosine. Tyrosine is a natural appetite suppressant. The one thing that can kill a first time fast is the huger pains.
You can find Spirulina, which is marketed as a "superfood" , at health food stores.

God bless your journey.

Hello Alexis, Christianity is a walk of faith, don't be so fixated on being perfect , just focus on being more like Christ every day by receiving help from the Holy Spirit and let your motives for seeking Him be pure. He loves you very much you know!.

If you have not asked Jesus to be your savior I would highly recommend you do so now. The Bible tells us what we must do to get saved.

Rom 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

I did this more than 40 years ago, and I have never been the same ever since. You coming here is an indication that the Holy Spirit is drawing you to him self, so he can reveal all that he has prepared for you. Fasting is a very powerful way of bringing the flesh into subjection, as it does not want to fast, as you can already tell for yourself.

Being "weak" is not a bad thing as the Apostle Paul who wrote most of the new Testament said......

2Co 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2Co 12:10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

God's power is made "perfect" in our "weakness", but this is not true in our lives until we find this out in the scriptures, and then believe it.

Apologies for not welcoming you sooner.
Be, welcome to Talk Jesus.

Second if you are wondering if you are saved. Always a good reminder of where we started from. This is a good link to a thread here started by Brother Chad.

How do I accept Jesus as my Savior

If it's weakness that you are feeling. As Brother Curtis has stated. God answered Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9. This is tough to understand in the midst of our weakness, because it really requires you to turn to Him fully in these times that you are feeling that way.

Also, fellowship with other believers is something to seek out. So you have done well coming here if you lack this anywhere else, pray that you may find it where you live. For we hear you and know what you are going through. I would not be amiss in saying that all have felt weakness in their walk at one time or another. So, too those brothers & sisters in Christ Jesus that you encounter throughout your life. It's part of our growing in Him.

Ask in prayer that you are guided to those who may help carry whatever burden you are going through. For we are called to do so "Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2 We do so not just because we are called to do which is enough reason for doing so, but because we do love you as well. "We love, because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19 We know this to be true because He died for us! "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 Knowing this we can see Christ in you working, growing, seeking perfect clarity and response to the darkness when the natural man (flesh) attempts ascendency in your/our life.

So, we will pray for you brother. Do not be ashamed of your weakness. Though you may not see it, it does serve a purpose.
"...and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, 1 Corinthians 1:27

At the end of it. You'll be stronger for it!
With the Love of Christ Jesus, be welcome and know we are praying for you.
