I'm a new member and wanting to get my walk closer to our god ive strayed away from church and i have 4 beautiful girls who need a loving church here in middle Tennessee. We just recently lost a young teen and we are all distraught as to why she took her own life you would have never known she was going to do it. It has took a toll on my mind and i just cant talk to my girls enough about mental health and understand that there is help for all of us and its never stupid to talk about anything we all habe needs and learning too. I love our greatest physician and know he is the answer to everything.

Welcome to Talk Jesus @Madlynn

I hope you find fellowship and guidance in what you seek.

The great equalizer (death) has made it's presence felt here with some Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus as well. It is never easy when it happens unexpected, and most especially by their own hand. To me this always speaks of a hopelessness, that if they were in Christ, or even Assembly with other Saints the support might have been there for them. Having daughters of similar age as those who have done the unimaginable, does make one access what is happening to those close to ourselves in our own families. Understanding that Jesus in their lives is the most important of all considerations. So creating an environment whereby questions, answers, or just plain communication is open and ongoing on any number of subjects is a must. Even when the only answers you get to your questions are, okay, yes, not really, u huh etc. Sometimes you can teach them to expound on your questions by putting the shoe on the other foot. Have them ask you questions, and then you show them how to do this, by your own answers of anything but "yes, no, okay, good....". Teach them by example how to answer questions in something other than monosyllables. Takes time, but in the long run it can be well worth it, when they get to realize that it's okay to talk to dear old mom & dad on "personal subjects", and how they might do it.

I hope I didn't get too wordy on this, when my intent is to let you know that you're not alone, and that you are welcome here at Talk Jesus this online Community of Christian Believers.
Praying for you, and yours, with the Love of Christ Jesus.
