Hello Risen

That is an unusual name you choose to call yourself, you leave me wondering my friend.

I notice you say you are not born again? Do you have any questions you would like answers to?

Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed.

Hey there Brother -Paul. I chose the name after the film "Risen". I was raised a Roman Catholic and practiced it on and off. I like some of the traditions of the mass , but find the sermons really boring, impersonal and uninspiring.
I noticed when reading comments under some pastoral youtube vids, there are always atheists chiming in. I wanted to find a place where I wouldn't encounter this. Hence, here I am.

The devil will always attack the unexpected, Talk Jesus does get some from time to time, you can tell a tree by its fruits.

I have not seen the film Risen so cannot comment my friend.

There are so many places people can get 'opinions' nowadays, I am sure you would agree, the only place we can reply on the Truth, is God's Word, the Bible.

But, yep there is always a but, the Bible must be unchanged, not one dot or tittle added or removed, do you agree?

Bless you

I often wonder if the non believers are so desperate to be proved wrong that they keep prodding. Why else would they invest so much effort.

In my searches, I get pretty confused. Some say God cares about all our problems in our lives, big or small, and he wishes for us to ask Him for help. Others say He only cares about your soul and has no interest in our daily lives. The latter leaves me utterly despaired.

Should anything be changed in the bible? I don't think so, but it seems vulnerable to misinterpretation. I'm more comfortable with the New Testament, and I don't dare read the old without guidance.

Greetings @Risen

Thank you for your heart felt comments, you say at times you get confused, then you have come to the right place, Jesus loves you my friend, we do too, and there are lots of brothers and sisters in Christ on here to help you and pray for you.

I am very pleased you added that you do not think anything in the Bible should be changed, the Bible tells us that not one dot or tittle should be changed and warns if anyone does so, I am not into denomination bashing, but there are no denomination in the True Church, Christ is Head of His Church, the ekklesia, we as born again believers (not church goers) are His Church. Now there are many errors in the Catholic Church, against scripture, I am not going to mention these now but can another time if you want me or others to confirm them. The main thing we all need to ensure is we are reading from a Bible translation without changes, and t know if we are unsure about anything we can get trust worthy advice in accordance with the scriptures.

Do not be concerned that you only read the NT, and don't feel comfortable with the OT, it is always best to take things a step at a time, and readying about and learning from Jesus teaching is the best thing you can start with.

It is nice to chat with you @Risen, Jesus Loves you my friend, we do too.

Peace be with you

We are here to serve and to love one another as Christ loves us.

Honesty must always be first and foremost, as well as loving one another as Christ loves us.

You have a good and searching heart, may the Lord truly Bless you.

Hi Risen, Pleaed to see you here, you should never feel worried about reading any of the scriptures old or new testament, it's through the scriptures that the Lord gives us revelation and speaks to us. And as it says in the gospel of John. John 1:1-5 'In the beginig was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it'. and in verse 14,' The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.' The Word is Jesus and he speaks to us through his Word, I pray you trust him. Bless you.

Thank you Trevor. I feel the Old Testament portrays God as vengeful, angry...
Does it not say something about "eye for an eye"? I'm a big fan of "turn the other cheek". I like how gentle Jesus is in his teaching and yes I know how he reacted at the temple. I'm afraid of misinterpreting the old Testament. Maybe what I've written so far exhibits that.

Your reply is very beautiful however. I thank you for reaching out to me.

Hallo Risen, Acording to the apostle Paul, the law was not given for man to obey. It was given to show man tha he couldn't and he needs salvation. Romans 7:7-25 Well worth a read bless you.
