Did you know there are people who think that when they die they will be going to heaven, yet the reality is that they will not? The reason for this is because they have rejected God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

"What?" you may say, "I have never openly rejected God! I just don't think about Him much, that's all."

In the Bible we are told, "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters." (Luke 11:23)

Sometimes a person may turn his or her back on God without being fully aware of how words and actions may affect their spiritual standing. You see, every time we give in to sin, we are, in essence, showing God that our will is more important than His, and that oftentimes, the desires of our flesh hold greater priority than our relationship with the Lord.

The Bible relays, "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." ( Matthew 6:24)

In other words, we need to make a firm decision as to who we are going to follow; our own ways, or God's straight path which leads to righteousness. Unless God is number one in our lives, whatever else is taking His place just may rob us of our salvation.

For example, it is great to be a devoted dad who wants to earn a good income so he can take care of his family, but if money is given such a high priority that we are neglecting our heavenly Father, money has then become as our "god." Anything we place before God is idolatry.

Everything in life has a place, and a time, and a season. God's place is at the head of our lives.

What's number one in YOUR life?
