Hello! I'm sorry it's been such a long time, I've been so busy I forgot about TalkJesus. Well, here's a song that I wrote that I wanted to share with y'all. I wrote it about a friend of mine and thoughts I often have. Sometimes we work so hard on letting everything in, that we push God out. Please give me your honest thoughts!
Obsessed with her obsessions/ obsessed with her passions, possessions, and transgressions/ convinced she makes no confessions/ without a lie to hold on to, she’s nothing more than an apparition/ I’d hate to be in her position
Chorus: Lord she needs your truth/ she’s let go of her magnifying glass as a sleuth and picked up her Vogue magazine/ telling her what to do and who to be from everything from A to Z/ what she needs is direction/ to save her from her obsession over obsessions
Posters of her heroes fill the empty wall inside of her/ she worships them and they don’t seem to consider/ that a lonesome girl with cakes of makeup and glitter/ needs someone or something to keep her mind off the bitter/ it never reaches deep enough/ all the world with all its stuff, can never close the void/ the reality of which she is always fighting to avoid
