Orchestration - February 20, 2006

When you attend the symphony, the orchestra is composed of various musical instruments: strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. The orchestration is the arranging or putting together of a performance to achieve a desired effect.

When you are part of the Body of Christ, you have a special gift or talent, and God puts it all together to achieve His divine perfect effect. I saw the body of Christ work through my prayer group a few years ago as they ministered to my mother-in-law.

My mother-in-law, Bennie, had been hospitalized for three weeks and then came to our home to begin her recovery. During the second week of her stay, each of my seven prayer partners came by the house to give a word of encouragement and say hello. Each brought a different gift to her; a plan orchestrated by God, I am sure. There were no duplications or gifts of a similar nature given to her. Each was uniquely individual, and exactly what she needed that particular day. All these gifts were wrapped with love, and delivered in such a beautiful manner. Each woman took the time to share the gift of herself along with something for Bennie to unwrap! None of these presents was discussed or pre-arranged, yet none was duplicated. I believe God orchestrated the gifts given, since each one was so special to her on that particular day. He also showed His beautiful love shining through each of these extraordinary women.

I am so thankful for each of these ladies, and it is a privilege for me to know God's hand is upon them and that they are following His directions.

Truly, I saw love in action, and I praise God for allowing me to have such special friends and sisters in Christ. Being part of a small prayer group has blessed my life. I would recommend it for anyone.
