Our Role at TJ

I have been thinking about this because we are such a diverse group of individuals drawn together by our love for our Saviour. I think there are a few things we need to think about when we are on here speaking to our brothers and sisters and what our Role is. I have spoken to some young children on here as they have pm'd me, the first thing I tell them that they must have their parent's permission to speak with me and they must know my age. We hear and read about people who misrepresent themselves as Christians to entice young ones in conversation, it would kill me if something would happen here. We have to protect the young ones and we also have to be a role model with them in our actions towards each other. We have to remember that Jesus is right beside us when we are typing to each other, He sees all that we do and we are obligated to represent Him in all that we do here on TJ. We will be held accountable for our actions and that is not to be taken lightly.
We are also dealing with our brothers and sisters here and they must be treated with respect on all counts. We are not here to play head games with each other trying, vying for each other's attention. I am not on TJ to humour you, to waste my time away with nonsense. We must keep our priorities in our lives we live daily with our families. My husband comes first before the computer and Live Chat, so does my dog as they both require my attention. To be honest, my Quizz kids come before TJ as my goal is to make a lasting imprint on the kids in my community.
I love coming onto TJ to minister to people. I had the privilege to minister to a young man from India, that is my role here. What is your role?

Dear Mymakersdaughter,

Thank you, sister! I am in agreement with what God has put in your heart to share and it gave me personal food for thought since we both are very active here at Talk Jesus.

Thanks, Michele!

Brothers and sisters, Please read "Before we enter Talk Jesus" in the "Press Stand" forum for further insight to mymakersdaughter's thread here.

Your servant in Christ Jesus.

Thank you both for your excellent posts and true sincere devotion to Talk Jesus for GOD's glory in Jesus' name :)

This is very important to pray before we enter the Church and to be a trule role model, aka "light" unto others - in a Christlike manner. We were all enemies of GOD, created by the same GOD so we must all forgive each other, bless each other, build each other up and witness to unbelievers, for the glory of GOD.

Very well put mymakersdaughter I also am in agreement with you. I know why I am here there are a couple of reasons 1) To help people learn more about Christ 2) to learn more myself 3) To fellowship with other christians I enjoy coming here to talk Jesus and sometimes days will go bye before I can return and sometimes I can make it a couple times a day and that is because I am a wife and mom of three and I have a house to run. So i also know where my priority is (thankfully I did have to learn it though ) God bless you all and thank you for Talking wiht me

I think your comments are are well put. But I am curious as to what prompted you to start this thread. Is there something happing on forum that concerns you?

For my part I view the forum as an opportunity to discuss different viewpoints on the subjects presented. I have repeatedly said that all viewpoints should be treated with respect. Am not sure how I would define my role. Ususally I respond to those posts addressing subjects where there would be differences of opinion. Hearing different opinions can broaden one's perspective both that of the original poster, responders and mine was well.

There have been occasions where I saw Biblical references being misunderstood and what I considered wrong conclusions drawn from that misunderstanding (as in discussions about the Trinity, Tatooing and recently the one on christians and sinning). In these cases I responded to clarify the meaning of the biblical text its application to real life. I have a fairly strong background in Biblical studies (and high regard for the Bible) and hope that any observations I make are helpful (even though some of them present a different opinion).

Some on the forum have been helped, as some of the responses have indicated and some of the private Emails I have received.

Hats off!!

Very well put MyMakersDaughter,
as for my role here I am here to learn and to share, and encourage, and pray. I really love this church that God has given us as well as the family I have made here and yet to meet. I feel so blessed to have the privlage of participating on the boards and in chat. This helps my fire stay lit.
God Bless you one and all, much Love, Peace and Prayers,
Yours in Him!:rose:

I am glad you asked...:) I'm here because God has held my hand & at times carried me as I walked thru some painful times in my life. He is leading me to minister & always witness & bear testimony to Him - taking the ugliness of those times & changing it to beauty as I testify of His Glory & provision.

So many times we find limitations as to why we "can't" minister....no time, too shy, opportunity didn't present itself, etc. This forum provides a means while eliminating most of the limitations we set on ourselves. God can use anyone....are we willing?

Hi Pappa,
This was in my heart as young ones are sending me PM's and I want to be upfront with them so they know who they are dealing with. I also come across lots of young ones in chat and sometimes there are adult conversation's going on that are not appropriate for kids. Sometimes the kids just want to play around.
There are new Christian's on here, some that are searching for answers and some strong ones who have walked with the Lord for a long time. I think it is important that we are accountable for our actions with each other and to Him. I have not come across any inappropriate behaviour on TJ but sometimes there are evil people in this world who prey on kids. Christians can provide a safe place for Christians but some may disguise themselves so we have to be aware of who we are dealing with, kids are so innocent. I work with kids Pappa and my heart is with them to protect them. It is a blessing to have the young ones on here but we have to be aware they are right there with us. That's all.

Thanks MMD. It would be nice to know the ages of the posters to this forum. I know that is impossible ... I will try my best to make sure my responses are understandable to the younger set. Actually I was unaware that there were children on the forum.
